warming up to it

Furukawa Yuki as Naoki was very good in this. His character seems to be paying a lot more attention to Kotoko at this point, jealousy wise, than in the versions.

Kotoko's stalking reaches creepy levels in this, but thankfully, the very sensible father intervenes and saves us from more. Just in time.

The relationship between Kotoko and Kin-chan is much more warm in this series than in the other versions, which is very nice to watch.

The senior who becomes a freak on the tennis court, showed a lot of over acting, and is not as good compared to his other language counterparts.

I also like all the blazers Kotoko and Naoki wear. Looks smart.

Interesting start

An interesting start to a drama with so much hype around it. Lee Min Ho's english is fine, but the American actors they've got to play the side characters are not. It's not fine, because, come on- you are filming in the US and is it too much to ask for Lee Min Ho's friend to be played by an American who can also act?

Good one!

Kin chan is good! Kotoko and Naoki are good. The mother alone is too much this episode.

The story is developing well. Only sorry that there's just two more episodes left apparently, and that means it's going to end just where it gets more interesting.

great episode

This episode went very different from the way the story unfolds in the other versions..and it went great. Things are happening fast, sequences compressed together, but the most important difference is in Naoki and Kinchan.

Naoki is a lot more expressive and doesn't have the cold mask on as much as his other language versions.

Kin chan steals the show literally. His character is built up in a very good way- more screen space, less goofiness.

A very cute episode

A very happy, cute episode. Nice to see a drama dedicating a whole episode just for sharing the affection of two people dating and nothing else to reduce the happiness.

We know there are more difficulties to come, but they can wait till the next episode ;)

exaggerated acting

In this episode, Kotoko gives good competition to Sudo-san in terms of expression. There was probably five minutes of moderately real Kotoko.

She is so good when she is just acting, and not exaggerating-that's what makes me more annoyed. Beyond a point, it's like watching a kids cartoon character- don't think, just watch.

Naoki and Kin-chan are good, as always. Everything and everybody else was good, only that I don't like the way they make Kotoko act.

Tragedy of a childhood

This episode continues the story of childhood.

Every historical Korean drama I've watched makes me wonder at the brutality of the social structure they show. The evil characters are so many and 'evil', and the punishments/judgements are inhumane to the point of being absurd. Every next person is being killed, labelled a traitor and tortured to death and so on at somebody's whim or fancy. I can't help but think - If this is all true, it must have been torture to just live in those times.

Fool's day

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. This is the only thing I can say to Ma Ru.

This episode makes me more angry at Ma Ru. I wonder.. even leaving out what has happened before, what makes him think he is some sort of savior to Jae Hee? Surely if he used his head a bit, it would make no sense that if she was in real danger she would call only him and wait!

WHY??

Why Oh Why did they kill off Byung Hee? I am almost near the end of this episode and I myself can't accept that he's not coming back..I'm still kindof hoping somehow they figure out there was a mistake and he's still alive.. :p

Now I'll have to force myself to continue watching in the hope that I can maybe recover something from the remaining.

Too soon, too little

The thing is at this point the story could have moved ahead so much. If there's only going to be 16 episodes, why include so many extra episodes like the Christmas one, and why try to be painstakingly detailed about so many side events.

The way they have been telling the story, it needs more than 16 episodes. Otherwise, I don't know how they can do justice to it.

The hunting continues..

The plot isn't moving much. Many characters have been introduced so far, but they are wandering in their own lines now.

I don't really get why after all these years, suddenly, Gyeom is being hunted for with such urgency?

One thing alone is VERY clear thus far- No need to fear for Gyeom/ Yong's life. He has amazing powers of sustaining life. He has been hit and abused severely and left for dead so many times till now, and survived it all like a charm.

Don't look for logic, it's all in his inner strength to survival.

Very good but for one

Everything's good and I'm really liking how well they've taken it. But, why is the Jeremy character acting retarded? It looks anything but cute. Really missing the Korean 'Jeremy'.

Getting Interesting

It's going good. But the reason why Hiroto is doing all this makes no sense to me. That seems like the most stupid thing anyone could think of..really, that girl couldn't have done better if she were trying to make Rintaro notice Sakura finally.

Anyway, it seems almost sure that she'll have exactly the opposite effect of what she's trying to do..

Annoying side characters!

Jang Ma Ri is everything I hate in a drama character. Why every drama has to have one of her I'll never understand. Both she and Choong Shik are tiresome.

Story is slow moving, amidst all the nonsense happening. Gong Yoo and occasionally, Lee Min Jung are the only reasons to keep watching.

Good episode

The thing about this drama- it's unpredictable. Just when everyone's all goofy and cartoon-ish and I start to tire of it, they change the mood around so fast, you wonder if it is the same drama. This episode started off goofy and turns into a solemn mood to finally end on a beautiful note. Not the heart attack of course, but the beautiful walk that held a lot of promise. For the first time since it started, I could see Kotoko and Naoki as a great couple.
