One thing I hate in Asian Dramas is forced reconciliation by the writers and I do not want to see that with FL…
This is much more in Korean dramas. There has been a recent c-drama where this didn't happen at all, at the end it was "don't contact me again". I don't remember which drama it was, but it was so satisfying!

Can anyone say does the novel have a happy ending or sad ending ?
I read in a comment above that the novel has a happy ending.

Now I'm curious. This drama's characters were all very good looking, so whom did they write "ugly" about?…
How is that possible? She's very pretty!
(Her mouth is a bit large, but that's not considered an important flaw nowadays - there are even people who like it a lot). And, apart from her features, she is feminine, delicate and refined, like a flower.

It's not as if they were roses with thorns! What do you mean "assaulted"? He aggressively harrassed her and also insulted her with his arrogance. That was the least.

A solid 7.8 - 8. Not a very complicated drama at all. But enjoyable and what I would term "a light watch"…
I watch a couple of episodes just before going to sleep and it ensures a calm night.

Title Xiao Fang Spoiler
It was such a perfect drama for the first 17 episodes that I would have happily given it a solid ten if it weren't for the disappointing last episode.
Was I disappointed because the two leads didn't end up together? Yes, but that is not the reason I removed one star.
It's because, contrary to the previous ones, this episode was badly written. On one hand it was too neat and upbeat in a conventional way, everyone's story tied down in a nice little bow - no originality and no surprises there.
The uncle's sudden talent for gardening, the sudden appearance of his great love who wants to marry him seemed especially sloppy.
The writer wanted everyone to have their happy ending. And that's okay. But... everyone except the male lead. We didn't even see what happened to him.
The only faint hint was that painting in his room and the postcards pasted on the window. So he did start painting his own thing. Good. But how did the painting end up there? Did he send it? But it seemed unfinished, so why would he send an unfinished portrait done from memory? Did he come back and leave again? The postcard on the window says "Next stop: home". So he's coming back? Or is the postcard old and he has already come back? His window is also open, a sign that he might be there. But if that is the case, why wasn't he shown at all, but only an empty chair?

Let's forget about them being together and our collective disappointment about not even getting a hint of a hope about that. You know, just them meeting and smiling at each other. Just a promise that maybe... But the writer didn't intend to, the writer seems to think that the greatest degree independence and happiness excludes a relationship with the other sex.
(I seriously thought that the writer was a lesbian, seeing that the men were such poor specimens - except for the FL's father, but he also did some pretty stupid thing in the past. Also taking into account the younger aunt saying she had a girlfriend when she was younger, so presented as bisexual. Usually gay people like to insert little hints to LGBT in every script, for good measure. But then I searched and it seems it's a man. Go figure).

So let's forget about a happy ending for the male lead regarding his love life.
Let's just focus on the writing of the character and his evolution. He evolved greatly in the last half of the drama, but then we didn't get his final version after one year, although we got everyone else's, and even an extra character inserted. If that isn't sloppy, what is?
Even if we assume that he has already back, even if we assume his love for Xiao Fang that we clearly saw in their goodbye scene is completely gone and the two are okay being just friends and co-parents, still we need to know what happened to him and what are his prospects for the future.
The fact that he has come back doesn't tell us whether he can make a living from his art and has a job allowing him to feed himself. Nothing. Is he just painting in that remote village and sending paintings to be sold elsewhere? No artistic career can be made like that. You need to be in the artistic scene, have an agent, do exhibitions around the countries etc.
Did he reach, in only one year, the point where he can support himself with painting? That would be super-unrealistic. So are they implying he stayed a useless bum living off his parents and just painting in his room? When even the super-useless uncle became a successful entrepreneur? Come on!
Honestly, they gave me the impression that they didn't know what to do with this character, so that's why they left his fate mysterious. Laziness.

Also:
Women who choose to breastfeed are "only dairy cows"? And formula is "just as good as breastmilk"? What is this propaganda? They made it sound as if breastfeeding was a retrograde, village thing and formula is progressive and emancipated.
It's one thing to say "I know breastfeeding is best for the baby, but I don't have milk, although I tried my best, so I have to use formula". This would be perfectly understandable, (there are women who simply cannot, and others with medical conditions like HIV, drug use, who SHOULDN'T). But this is not at all the way it's presented here. (She did NOT try her best, gave up immediately). And it's even more ironic if you think that Chinese baby formula was found contaminated with formaldehyde . Not only that. Someone suggests a goat, and the idea is cruelly mocked, in favour of powedered commercial formula -expensive and potentially full of additives. If you cannot breastfeed, fresh goat's milk (boiled of course) is the next best thing. They said "we cannot afford to feed a live animal" but then they adopt a whole cow!

Again: I loved this show, but these were the flaws that irked me the most and marred the perfect impression.

what is a traviata ?
La traviata means "The fallen woman". It's an opera by Verdi, inispired by the short autobiographical novel by Alexandre Dumas son. Violetta, the leading lady, is a high society prostitute, who always wears a camelia. White in normal days, red when it's her period. She gives up her frivolous life when she falls in love with a pure and devoted young man. But her past of course follows her.
The father of her beloved goes to meet her and, even when he sees that she's absolutely disinterested, and on the contrary, is selling all her fortune, coach and jewellery in order to support the two of them living in the countryside, he does everything he can to separate them, with every sort of emotional blackmail, including showing affection and understanding for her. He also tells her that he also has a daughter, a pure young girl who is betrothed to someone, and her betrothed won't marry her until that scandalous couple breaks up.
He tells her things such as "Be the consoling angel who blesses my family". And "What will happen if you grow old and beauty fades, and love fades, and you don't have a church blessing for your relationship?" and "I promise that one day I will tell my son about your sacrifice myself".
And at the end calls her "oh generous one" and hugs her in a fatherly way. She is the prototype of noble idiocy, I think. That scene always makes my blood boil. It's despicable!

Ep.10. They pulled a Traviata on us? Really? AGAIN? And it goes hand in hand with the noble idiot trope, the one on top of my most hated list.
The only consolation is that there are only two episodes left so it won't last long. But even that short bit is unacceptable for a drama made in 2026. Enough already with the tired clichés!

How come a ghost didn't scare Prosecutor Ma in the elevator to prevent him from getting engaged, in the same terrifying…
Firstly, thank you very much for your effort to give a detailed explanation. I appreciate that, I do.
However.... you didn't get at ALL what I'm saying. I am referring particularly to what she told Prosecutor Ma about what happened to people whom she had touched accidentally in the past . That it lasted only one month, provided that after that one month they kept away from her.

Oh, there have been plot holes throughout the entire show, but it’s still been very entertaining
Yes it is!

No no no, I remember it very clearly. She said that those who have been "discovered" by ghosts once (because of touching her hands) and haunted for one month, will only be safe if they keep away from her. (Now, was this a lie because she felt guilty etc? I don't know. But she made it sound like a rule).

That's my point. The rule of not even being friends, not even socializing with a small distance, because the ghosts would come back once the month was over, at the end didn't apply in his case. But neither of them pointed it out nor seemed surprised. I think the writer forgot about that "rule".

But we were specifically told that even being physically close (even if not touching) would have them coming back. And then this "rule" was forgotten, because they didn't even show any surprise when nothing bad happened.

Title Spooky in Love Spoiler
A series of plot holes in the last couple episodes.
How come a ghost didn't scare Prosecutor Ma in the elevator to prevent him from getting engaged, in the same terrifying way they scared the previous fiancé? Maybe it was a good ghost that thought that first guy was not good enough for her and it did that to protect her?

Secondly, I know we needed that splash in the pool to bring back her memories of the yacht, but how ridiculous it is that during an investors' cocktail party, where everybody goes there to network and talk business over drinks, with formal dresses etc., some people in a swimsuit are playing handball and splashing in the pool?

Thirdly. _We were told that once the ghost month is over, he wouldn't see ghosts any longer if he kept away from her. And that's why she had told him they were not to see each other anymore. But now they are close together, he even hugs her or holds her hand over gloves, and nothing has happened so far?

No offense but how can you read the synopsis, see the infidelity tag and then say you hope it doesnt contain cheating?…
No, wait. What I mean that this can be the barebone canvas, but there may be lots of things inside, that take you from point A to point B.
