Well, sounds like he's over romance dramas, which makes sense. He is in his 40s. Many actors his age have passed…
But why would he? Namgung Min is no spring chicken either, but he did "My Dearest" which of course was not only romance, but had a strong romance in it. Life doesn't end at 40, neither does love.
while I am enjoying it (watched 4 episodes) some points are really annoying like the fact that the protag is not…
Also she's not graceful at all. When she dances, it's like gym moves. When she walks, she walks bent, with feet apart, like an old lady with arthritis although she doesn't have any. Like a caricature. Generally, the overacting is annoying.
I predict that they will go the "virtuous", bland and comfortable way, because the conservative South Korean viewers would be scandalized otherwise. Oh Mal Sun will choose to become old again at the end and get together with Mr. Park who is her age, thus "appropriate", in the viewers' minds. So what about the male main lead? Is he going to remain heart-broken and solo? No chance for the twin sister to become Emily again: in the scene where she told the taxi driver that she regrets returning to her old self, the taxi driver replied that once she chose to return to being old again it wasn't possible to have a second chance at youth. So who is the young man going to end up with? There is no other plausible love interest for him. I suppose we have to wait and see.
I dropped it before even finishing the first episode. It was boring AND infuriating at the same time. The manipulation and coercion, the forcing someone to do what he hates doing, all this together was distasteful. Not to mention the pooping in one's pants - how necessary was that for the plot? Zero.
except for that lip color. I don't know why they can't stop putting on lip color for women who are supposed to…
Yes, but the question is why feminizing men and making them look softer makes them more appealing to Korean girls/women? As a woman, it doesn't make them more appealing to me. When I see an actor with bright red lipstick I feel repulsed or, in the best case, amused, it seems ridiculous to me. Of course all actors all over the world wear makeup to minimize flaws and enhance their features, including lipstick, but it is of a more neutral, natural colour, so that they look as if they didn't wear any.
Just watched episode 1 and I’m thinking of dropping it. I just watched finished blossomand I’m kinda disappointed…
You do know that the Joseon period extended up to almost the 20th century, right? It's the longest dynasty in the world. At some point Korea stopped being isolated and started getting "exotic" Western stuff. We also saw glasses with champagne and Western-style opera singers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joseon#16th–19th_century
Don't think there's gonna be any hype... Competition has been tough on the weekend slot this year... They'd probably…
The actors are not anything to write home about, the plot is far from original (apart from the "hotel" idea, which is new) and the humour not really funny. I don't dislike it, but I think it's average. A bit like Hwarang, but Hwarang had some interesting actors to hide the nothingness of the screenplay.
