Tell me one part of the plot of the story that was moved forward BECAUSE of the body swap. Just one.

Not trying to be mean but the people saying the body swap/soul exchange is not necessary and is ruining the plot...…
I'm not sure you understand what a plot is, because it's not the same as a synopsis or a trailer, it's the driving goal of the story--in this story the external plot goal is for the crown prince finding the evidence surrounding the poison bird in order to overthrow the left minister to restore order to the monarchy and bring justice to his murdered crown princess. And it is for Dal I to discover her true identity and purpose to stop running and live the life she was always meant to have. That is the point of the drama. The point is not for two people to swap bodies. The body swap COULD have been central to the plot, but it wasn't. This is why people are rightfully criticizing it.

Other than superficial hijinks and silliness, name one thing that happened in all of these episodes that would have been actually different if the scenes would have been with the two as their actual selves vs body swapped?
- Did they get closer to finding the bird or taking down the minister because of the swap? No. CP was able to still move forward on their plans as Dal I, and all the important conversations with the 2nd prince that he would have had as the CP the writer just made him have as Dal I instead for no real reason. As Dal I he even walked past the bird but didn't even see it at the time. Meanwhile Dal I spent here entire time in the CPs body being completely ineffective and useless--she literally accomplished nothing that helped them in the actual plot goal, she just went around acting like a girl stuck in a CPs body.
- Did they get closer to finding out that she is actually the crown princess because of the swap? No. While she got to see his dreams, for some reason he did not see anything regarding her drowning or rebirth or anything that would hint at her true identity. The only time the CP interacts with Dal I's family in Dal I's body and could have found out some secret info or something useful they immediately tell them instead that their bodies were swapped and he finds out nothing of use.

So while the body swap was fun for a bit, it didn't actually matter for the story. It didn't even matter for the love story, as they would have fallen in love regardless and could have had very similar interactions. That is the literal definition of a gimmick. Gimmicks are poor storytelling. It's fine if you liked it and were fine with it, but it is a very legitimate reason to call out the body swap as unecessary for those of us who value a well written and well executed story. Frankly you seem to have no idea what you're even arguing against.

Oh my God, Kang Tae Oh’s acting is SO bad, I swear I could cry at any moment 😭.
Really? I'm watching a diff drama I guess cause I think he is nailing all the emotional scenes and I'm totally impressed. I got chills at the end of 7.

Maybe people not liking the body switching are only complaining because it complicates the romance and makes any…
I was all for the switching at first but grew to dislike it cause I don't see how it served the story. The main plot could have been exactly the same without it. It's not made it special it's made it gimmicky

IU is on a huge roll she seems to only pick excellent scripts and dramas, BWS must have very carefully picked his follow up to Lovely Runner, plus one of THE best directors in Korea right now. I am so excited

wait...only 12??? how?? we need at least at least 16 of this beautiful pair
I wish writers could sustain a 16 ep drama but so many fall apart halfway through and the rush the ending, so I think 12 is better

Someone who is asexual and someone who is not seem so wildly incompatible and I feel like even the premise of the drama isn't honoring what being asexual really is or means for someone

This was one of the first K dramas I watched, and I remember it to this day, it's still one of the best I've seen. Jung Kyung Ho is a gem and went on to steal the show in so many amazing dramas. It's so worth a watch

Not unpopular at all!!!🔥He's one of my favorite actors and I wish he was the ML too...🥺"The Rebel" is my…
Blaming scripts lol. Other than Rebel and 6FD YKS has been forgettable in every other drama, and even in 6FD he couldn't hold a candle to a truly great actor Yoo Ah In who has never turned in less than a spectacular performance despite the script or the director he was working with. So if we're doing comparisons, I wish YAI was the male lead of this drama because he would blow YKS out of the water. See how dumb it is?

It's not a shame, Ahn bo hyun is a great actor who deserves to be a ML and if they thought YKS was right for the ML he would have been cast, but he wasn't.

yasss directors have a HUGE impact on a drama, they can make just an ok script work so well, bring out the best in bad or even already great actors, while bad directors do the opposite

Why doesn't Gon Yoo work more? He used to be the top dog in Korean Industry back when Train to Busan and Goblin…
You're lazy for not even looking up his filmography, he only does a a handful of projects every few years and was a big thing even before train to busan/goblin, every time he does a new project he makes a splash there is no reason for him to burn himself out for your amusement

Is the number of episodes a mistake ?
No. It's common for serious historicals (not the fun fusion ones) like this have long episode counts because they're covering a detailed story told over decades

Both Ml and FL have been weak (imo) in their past projects, hopefully this drama will help them get more strength…
I've never seen the appeal of Nam JI Hyun, she plays the same airhead character in every show I've seen her in, she doesn't seem to have much range. But willing to give her a chance cause this story seems fun. The ML was a standout for me in Under the Queen's Umbrella, he was really charismatic in that, but I haven't seen him in anything since and others are saying he hasn't really improved.
