another episode is another week of feeding my delusions that Chet and Bodyguard Park are deeply romantically in love… their messed up toxic “I would kill for you” codependency is stealing the series for me!
One thing that I really love is that every episode there is a potential conflict, that in most BLs would be the catalyst for the lead characters to break up, but instead every conflict they’ve faced so far in season 2 has if anything made them a stronger couple! I do that that will change - they will break up at some point I assume, but I love that so far that has not been the case, it’s be the opposite!
I know that DMD kept telling us that Next Prince has so much money put into it. They were definitely betting on that to be their biggest hit of the year, but then came along a cast of rookie pairings and they absolutely killed it and now Khemjira has to be the most widely beloved and successful Thai bl of 2025.
Now this is over I can say with certainty that My Golden Blood has won as my favourite GMMTV vampire series this year. I think I found that Revamp was sometimes confused with the tone that it was going for, whereas My Golden Blood was campy to the max and I feel everyone embraced that! But I feel like all of the supporting cast was so so brilliant in Revamp. Just the story of the leads wasnt that engaging to me and as I said the tone felt off, but that’s just my preference - I’m sure so many others preferred ReVamp.
the leads said in a couple interviews they want to be on the list for Japans best tv kisses this year and I think after the last episode they need to be at the very top of that list!!!
I love that they waited till the penultimate episode to learn Aoms story. I think it’s worked really well to wait till now! I think it’s done a really job and letting us get to know the characters. The only character that I feel we don’t know very well is Pie - she’s only motivated by her love for her boyfriend which I think is a little weak. I also wish we could see some balance to Don because he’s so unlikeable, Benz has ended up having very likeable moments - just a bad choice in a friend, but overall I think they’ve done a really good job at introducing us to 8 lead characters with backstories AND intense games in only 8 episodes.
this is so fun! The energy and pacing is pure insanity - but in the best way. Personally Lego was the funniest of the leads - such great comedic timing and delivery. And I LOVE to see Fluke in a leading role!!! But they are all killing it and look gorgeous! Also such a sidenote, but Marc’s hairstyles changing so much every scene had me cracking up - and he’s never looked better! haha!
oh my gosh!!! Episode 11 is actually incredible like even more incredible than the previous incredible episodes - which I didn’t think was possible!!! their plan was so fun (and terrifying and heartbreaking) to watch unfold. I’ve said this before but seriously the quality of this was closer to a film than a series!Loved Nets appearance he added some comedy and I think we needed that in this episode.
THE FIRST EPISODE WAS EVERYTHING!!! It’s been a while since a first episode had me squealing because of its cuteness! This is even better than I was hoping!!! I’m obsessed with the 2 leads, but I’m so happy that it looks like we will see Hioki growing closer to the whole group of friends! And there’s 10 episodes! YAY!!!
kataoka would be the better boss. Kirii is prone to unstable outbursts and killing his “family” members - this gang isn’t gonna survive with him in charge. Kataoka at least cares for his people and has some humanity left in him. But seriously, I really like this! I wish it was another few episodes so we could expand on the leads relationship, but I understand that they’ve already expanded the story quite a bit from the manga. I just love the vibe of this drama - the setting, the score, even the title sequence really set this apart from other BLs. I’m sad there’s only one more episode!
I know I shouldn’t be focusing on this… BUT Chet and his right hand man are sooo in love - it’s crazy! I know nothing will come of them, but let me have my delusional toxic ship!
Director Tee is so hit or miss for me! He’s responsible for some of the best dramas I’ve seen and some of my biggest disappointments. I liked the first episode as a start - I want to see where it goes!
My favourite part of this is still all the brothers! I love that Methas is the “ice prince” but Mark is showing his emotions subtly so so well! Mark has seriously levelled up here! Mekhin has my whole heart - Aun has appeared in 12 BLs now and in 3 pairings - I need AunStamp 2026 please! Ciar! I have missed him! We know that Barcode can play an innocent cutie, but that doesn’t match his aesthetic as much now he’s a bit older - dark and broody is working - but I’ve also LOVED seeing him do the comedic elements of Ciars character. Pokpong adds so much to the series - I feel more invested in his brotherly relationship with Punn than any other. And Pokpong brings out the fun sides of the vampires. These 4 are stealing the drama for me!
I loved this! it’s got a really interesting and fresh premise. And it really shows the talent of Top and Mick to play so many completely different characters. I do wish that every episode had like 10 extra minutes where we could see the overarching plot taking place - I wanted to see the falling in love part of that story, but that’s just me being greedy. My personal favourite of stories has to be Music teacher - I laughed so much and the dynamic was so entertaining.
I think my favourite part of this series the campaign trail up to the election - I loved that. Once we got to being elected in the second half I feel like a lot of the elements I liked in the first half were gone. But still overall this is a good drama - the first half was like a 9/10 - the second half was like a 7/10 for me. So definitely not bad. Also I’m so glad I got to see Ben in another project after I didn’t like his previous BL - he was so so good here. The perfect amount of coniving and vulnerable to balance out the character- Wi was my favourite character in the end. I am angry my personally least favourite character “won” but although it’s not a traditionally happy ending I also wouldn’t call it sad.
This is one of my favourite things airing at the moment - I do not stop smiling the who way through.
