Yup, i think it's overrated. It's decent drama though

I must praised for jing chao for his acting, because what fu chou deed is something despicable, and he always manipulative and scheming, but the actor can make viewer feel sympathy for him instead. I wish fu chou has good ending.

Yes, i think no problems with the ML looks, instead i feel the ML character lacks of development, just one dimensional character. I haven't read the novel, so i cant comment how ML character supposed to be. Instead the villain general Fu, has interesting development character, so many viewer got fond of him.
Also the chemistry between the FL, general fu has better one than with the ML.
I used to hated the 2nd male lead which to push over and clingy to the FL, But in this drama I just feel pity of him, and wish him get another woman instead and live happily ever after.
After 30+ eps I skipped the ML scenes, caused i feel it's boring. Not because of his look, but coz of his character.

I think ML lack of majectic aura. Compared to fu chou, i feel fc's more convincing to be arrogant prince than wu you, and aarif's feature face not suited with the classic costume. That's just my opinion though.

All the 3 actors are okay for me, but, yes, i found wy's character least interesting compared the others. I dont know what the problems, but i'll always feel someting missing with aarif's acting, because he definetly good actor, but someting just missing for wy's character.

I found general fu character really inreresting, the actor really good for potraying the character, so i can't hated him though as he is the villain in this drama

Yes, i think after the picnic or outing, i feel it kinda boring. Haven't check the new eps after ep 13, right now i'm waiting for le coup de fodre

Many fast forward, YJG is a good actors, but the story about political so boring and then no chemistry between the leads. After the psycho king dead, i lost interest with the drama. YJG potrayal of the real king so good, and he deserves to be nominated as Best Actor at 55th Baeksang Award. But this drama better than Ruler Master of the Mask, i dropped that one.

There's some different potraying about the ML from the novel and the adaptions. At the novel the ML so childish and so mean to her because he wanted an attention from the FL, however the in this drama the ML younger version so cute though.
IMO, this drama better than the movie. Yang Zi Shan acting is good.

Till ep 30, i still not found chemistry between the main leads. Jiro acting so stiff, although has handsome face, i dont feel the appeal. Otherhand i like the stories between the concubines, it's much much more interesting than the story between mengfei and emperor. No chemistry at all between gina and jiro. Sigh.
Gina so funny in this drama and her real voice so low, but i like it. No annoying to my ear. I hope no dubb for upcoming gina's drama. Gina now come to my radar. Never thought she good actress. wuxin and imprerial doctress not give me deep impression to me like in this drama. I hope to see here in many good dramas in the future

I do believe he is inspired by Tony's acting. Maybe Tony his idol too ^^

Good Adaptation of the novel. Well done. At first I hesitate to watch this coz I didn't like yang zi at ode of joy. Surprisingly yang zi really really really did a good job portraying Jin mi "silliness " . Sometimes this cliché cute, bubbly character easily turn me off,the actress sometimes too overly and make annoyed instead. But again Two Thumbs for Yang Zi.

Many people comparing this drama with ten miles peach, yup both are on par. I like both. For the side characters story my vote for TMOPB, their stories not under par with the main story, instead their story make the main story stronger. But I skip a lot sides story or supporting character at HSALF, they just a filler to me,and the PD team did poor job by distributing the duration in an episodes between main lead and supporting role. I only got Jin mi and phoenix on my laptop approximately 10 mins and the rest for Liu Ying & Mu Ci????? My vote for the production goes to TMOPB again. But for the whole drama I like HSALF little more than TMOPB. The chemistry from the 3 main leads so awesome.

Btw, I read the novel translation long time ago. At the novel I'm Night supporter, but at the drama I'm Phoenix supporter hahahahaha. Deng Lun rockin'

Zhu Yi Long resembles a lot with Tony Leung Chiu Wai. Not just his facial features, but also his acting style (how he smirk especially). I think anyone whose saw Tony's dramas on his younger days, will have same opinion with me.

there're no tiny of the beauty and great story from scarlet heart-1, you wont find it at the sequel.
don't understand what's the inside head from the production team .... if you know the prior drama was a hit at least you must working it double hard work to met with the greatness of it's prior,..... if you feel cant make it beyond from it, it's totally totally totally failed for Scarlet Heart 2. Keep watch it just because Liu Shi Shi and Nick Wu :)
