Must watch drama for the year
This has a combination of everything I love. Chengyi’s acting was great and the story line kept you guessing until the end. You may not like the ending which left us guessing if he died or not. But I love it. I do think he survived somehow as he wanted to live a different life. Not much romance in the story but enough to keep some of us happy. The fighting and solving mysteries along the way was enough to unlock all the plots which made 40 episodes very bearable.It deserved a second rewatch because there are some many mysteries yet to be discovered.

Entertaining short stories worth watching
You will not find your typical sitcom or romance stories here. But a very worthwhile entertaining short stories of the life’s of Chinese citizen. I like that these short stories covered struggles, farming, village life, science and technology, families, security and gave us hope that with hardwork, persistence and a positive attitude anything is possible. The ost is also great with many good actor and actresses, some you may even recognised.Give it a try. Perhaps it could ignite your passion in life.

The best way to learn about market economy
This is not your regular drama for everyone; not much romance, no tragic scenes, but a steady pace of story line which tells the struggle of a family from When zhou. I enjoyed it because i have learned a number of things and used the stories here to write my economic assignments. There were numerous business models, government policies discussed throughout the drama which was very useful for an economic student.Ah Yu story resonated well with anyone who had been send away by their family to overseas. Her struggles and persistence are very commonly seen in overseas students here.
Her parents in China and all the ideas that they came up with to earn money amassed me.
The ending is ….

Afternoon watching delight
I came across this web series, full of surprises. I really enjoyed in. The story is fast paced about a cheating husband and his family and how the wife schemed and win in the end. The best acting has to be the mother in law, her acting and her abuse of her daughter in law may seem over the top but I have seen such mother in law in real life. There is not much music, so unable to give any comment. The fl and ml acting are not bad either. Give it a try, it will give you a few laughs and surprises, worth the watch. A story about persistence and changing destiny
I ready enjoy this show as it is about a poor girl which fight against her destiny and made a better life for her self and family. The best part of it was the mixture of English and Chinese due to a portion on the drama was filmed in Malaysia. The portrait of the economic crisis and the collapse of the sub prime mortgages were reflected correctly. Really nice to see that these little details were there.After all the struggles in business and love, the ending is good. There is no loose ends either. I truly looked forward to finishing this good drama.

The same story as CEO's sudden proposal manhwa
I love it because it reflects one of of the comic I like very much. It is so good that they made this into a romcom show. Very light hearted that you can get through over the weekend binging on it. The best actor should be 'xiao bao'. He is so adorable and the director is able to pull off such great performance from a little kid. Kudos to the ML and FL who are able to compliment their acting beautifully with such a young kid. Being a sweet romcom, there are also some complicated plots which were all nicely executed. If you want something funny, to uplift your mood, this is the best antidote.Was this review helpful to you?
Beautiful story telling about family and work life
This is a grown up drama about life, marriage, divorce, work, and family. One of the best melodrama I have seen in this category. It is a dated drama, made 3 years ago, not new. However, the acting and the story telling are excellent and really hook you in from the start. The FL character does improve. It was quite annoying at the start. I did not like her attitude but her growth through the whole drama was very well written. Her friendship with her bbf lasted across many trials. Very interesting story and beautiful acting
It could have been better if the editors do a better work in the editing. The ML and FL are great, even the second lead is good and the music - very pleasing. However, they could have cut the episodes down to 30 and the whole thing would still make sense and less draggy. It has a very interesting story line, I ready enjoy Dong Wei’s acting, he brought out the temperament of a musician, passionate and impulsive. His scenes with the FL are very enjoyable and convincing to watch. And the second ML is not bad either, towards the end I really feel sorry for him. The credit do go to the writers who had told a story about mental illness nicely. But I will probably not watch it again.Was this review helpful to you?
Is it worth it ?
I love all of Yang Mi's drama. I like her acting and the ML here is not disappointing either. However, just as the rest of the previous reviews, I think the book may have been a better read. The production has failed in getting a beautiful story out from the book. The only saving grace is the acting and the romance between FL and ML (very convincing).They could have provided a better platform in transitioning FL's character after she found out about her illness, it seemed that one day the FL woke up and decided to change personality. Followed by the ML being very irrational overnight and their indecisiveness on Xiao Hua's character (bad or good). Not convincing at all.

Beautiful and touching drama - best of 2020 releases
I love this movie, finished all the episodes on a weekend. The production was excellent, not a dull moment. There are moments where you would cry, moments where you will laugh and moments where you will smile, not a dull moment. The acting from the main casts were all so brilliant. And the OST was a great match to the whole movie. I did not regret watching this at all, kudos to the director and producer for making such a delightful and enjoyable drama to watch.Not only I found the acting from the younger main casts were good, I enjoyed the acting of the other 2 older main casts. Their relationship in the story and the sacrifices both the fathers made for the children were so relatable. It also drove home the fact that no matter what the make up of a family is, unconditional genuine love for each other’s matters most. There are so many life lessons embedded in the drama, definitely worth the investment in your time watching it.

Good cooking show
I confessed that the only reason I finished this drama was because of the cooking. I love to cook and watching the knife and craving skills were amazing. The mixture of ingredients and how they turned out was lovely, even picked up a few tricks on how to fry fish properly. That is about it to this drama series. The story line is pretty much non existence but the food will make you hungry. There is no rating to the cinematography for the cooking component but I have to say the director did an excellent job with the food. I would rate the food as 10/10. Although the main lead has a fantastic looking physique; I am more impressed with all the second lead actors and actresses. The whole series were pull together by this group of people.
The story is good. I would love to see more on the background history of the Fox clan, however the focus was on the main lead's story.
It is worth watching just because I like the Vampire's Diary type genre drama.

The crimes although may seemed to be presented one at a time but you will finally realized that they were all linked together. That made it fascinating to watch, when they finally figured out the connections.
Both the main and second female and male leads were impressive in their acting . They played the role very well and not too over the top. It is worth investing your time watching. Enjoy!

In the end you cannot help but wonder if she should have a stronger personality. After all she is from the modern times and should not have put up so much shit.
I have seen many of these Kangzi Dynasty drama and the fight between all the princes always left me mesmerized.

Watched this drama in under a week during COVID 19 quarantine, and I could not put this down. The creation was mesmerising, acting from each actor and actress were superb, story is very believable, and the dialogue was never boring. There were plots and scheme all the way until the end.It made me laugh, cry, mad with anger, frustrated, felt the love and the let downs. Amazing director where each scenes were choreographed perfectly.
It is a happy ending for me, although FH died, She knew when she embarked in this journey into the forbidden city, there will not be things going her way. She is a lady on a mission to avenge her sister’s death that lasted 70 episodes, spanning years. Her character although set in the 1700 is more like a lady in the modern times. She demonstrated that women can stand up to men and can do whatever sets her mind into doing.
My only gripe is the OST, not a fan.
