The reviews above are too much, but after binge-watching this, I can accept the criticism. However, I'll still give it an average-decent rating because I love the casting. I'm a fan of familiar faces. Sadly, this could have been better if they had cut the parade moments and instead focused on exchanging opinions and arguments. In the end, all the climax and good parts went to the last episode.
The biker guy who looks like a bully but is an actual softy and good should've been one of the main characters.
This is the series where it would be better to cut it to 8 episodes and only keep the necessary ones so that you can binge-watch it. For example, in episodes 9-11, there are many unnecessary scenes, while the last episode feels rushed and packed with content. It's like episode 12 is the last gem.
That's what I expected, but they are not the same. What you mean by recycled is only the school violence, when in every school in real life, bullying is indeed happening, so this is just another side of the story.
One: High School Heroes revolves around the MC's trauma related to his family, whereas Weak Hero Class 1 does not focus on that aspect. Yeon Si Eun also experiences family issues due to both his parents being busy with their own work, which shifts the series' focus to the friendship between Su Ho and Beom Seok.
The first 2 episodes, great sure!! The rest was absalout crapSeriously no plot just violence?? Like I don't understand,…
The plot is actually Kim Eui Gyeom fighting back against bullying just like any other MC, but the twist is that he is "broken." If you watch the last episode carefully, Choi Gi Su says that Kim Eui Gyeom is a broken person; that's why he is acting like that. the aggressiveness he has because he's looking for someone to vent his frustrations. Because of the trauma with his family and his brother assaulting him while their parents ignore it by saying Kim Su Gyeom is only stressed due to his academics, but he is actually depressed due to his father's pressure.
Another plot is that Kang Yun Gi uses Kim Eui Gyeom to take revenge against Kim Nam Hyeop and his three friends who bullied his friend Ji Sung, which puts him in a coma.
Despite all that, they still want to build a friendship, and sadly, that ending is another cliffhanger for season 2.
The series is always realistic because it reflects real life. At the end of their violent act, they ends up in juvenile prison.
Binge-watch the whole 8 episodes! And I'm wanting more!!!
If you are here because of "Weak Hero Class," then this one is also good, with more violence in every episode. Like, c'mon guys, it's only eight episodes total, so stop asking why it's all violence.
By the way, this is not a copy of "Weak Hero Class." The difference is that this story is not simply about the main character's involvement in violence but about the trauma within his family. Friendship always has an influence, whether it's a good or bad one.
Kim Seung Jun is like An Su Ho, they're both fighters and know when to stop. Unlike Kang Yoon Gi, he is a different version, meaning this is a different view. (Yeah lol, I'm so sad that Seung Jun didn't shine a lot, I want him more with Eui Gyeom.)
The only thing I dislike is that they always give eight episodes instead of providing 16 episodes to better explain the side characters. WAVVE is also greedy with their release of episodes! So they better give us season 2!
I want season 2 to happen with a title "Prison School" !!!!
Not this show, but a similar concept. They're too sensitive with these kinds of themes and concepts, where if it's historical, it should be taken seriously. Even if you say it's fictional, if they find it offensive, they will cancel the show. I'm just glad they didn't attack any actors on this show, but there are many historical fiction works out there that have been canceled for no reason.
that's why I'm into c-dramas these days. Aside from having 30-40 episodes, most of them are entertaining to watch! :>
Ignore the negative reviews and give it a try! For me, it should be 8.5/10 because this is definitely an above-average series. It's rare to see historical fantasy in K-dramas due to these K-netizens trying to drag the show down and cancel it.
I've been watching C-dramas lately, which raises my standards, but being hooked on this one and a 16-episode show? makes me say it's really good!
Perfect Match is indeed a Perfect watch! I will definitely miss this! T^T The handsome husbands and beautiful wives.
Lastly is the MOTHER!! I first saw her in Guardian of Dafeng! and now she nailed this one too!
The biker guy who looks like a bully but is an actual softy and good should've been one of the main characters.
Overall, it's a good watch. 8/10
