Well the only reason this exists is because of the novel, thats why this is a "adaption" credited to the author of the original story.

Idc about betrayal but i think it is mediocre so far because of the forced tropes and how the've turned parts of the story nonsensical.

No it is mediocre, i watch chinese historical all the time, i've seen and enjoyed each the leads in their respective projects. So it is definitely my cup of tea, hence I am able to provide critique.

And idk if your unaware but they have completely butchered the novel hence the hate the drama is getting.

However the main stuff in the story is the hidden identity, which I hope the directors follow plotline because it was the more entertaining stuff.

its pretty mediocre, i believe it will pickup once the hidden identity stuff starts, so i'm watching it.

Hopefully they fix the pacing moving forward, 40 episodes is too long for such a common trope story.

This stuff happens at schools w wealthy/powerful kids. One of my friends went to a private international school in singapore and the kids of politicians were the leaders of everything and got away w all sorts of stuff!

I can relate to sang yan in a sense, ofc it hurts for those who leave, but for those who are left behind....

They usually end up thinking that they are the problem and deserve to be abandoned, as did sang yan in this episode.
