My understanding is that the rookie award is open to actors who have not had significant roles in more than three…
Yes, they should rebrand these awards because "Best New Actor" for actors that have already been in several movies or/and dramas before doesn't make much sense, even if it weren't main roles or successful movies/dramas.

Jung Sung Il being nominated and awarded for "Best New Actor" is quite ridiculous. The man has been in the industry for 20 years now ! What are the criteria for being considered a new actor ?
Anyway, very happy for Jeon Do Yeon and "Revolver" and even more for Choo Young Woo (not really a new actor neither for me but still, very happy for him).

Title Revolver
I wrote that seven months ago : "That’s definitely not a film for the mass. I’m not surprised it was picked up for festivals, but doesn’t appeal to the general audience, and the majority of the audience here in particular."

And now "Revolver" has a poor rating of 6.8 here but received 9 awards :
- Best Film (Buil Film Awards 2024)
- Best Supporting Actress (Buil Film Awards 2024)
- Best Cinematography (Buil Film Awards 2024)
- Best Actor Award (2024 London East Asia Film Festival)
- Best Actress (Busan Film Critics Awards 2024)
- Grand Prize (Busan Film Critics Awards 2024)
- Best Supporting Actor (Korean Association of Film Critics Awards 2024)
- Best Director (Baeksang Arts Awards 2025)
- Best Actress (Baeksang Arts Awards 2025)

That's why I will write this again : just watch what you are interested in, whatever the reason (an actor, the director, the plot, etc.) and make your own judgement. Don't just follow ratings and comments (good or bad).

And well deserved Best Director and Best Actress awards at the Baeksangs. It confirms that the rating and appreciation the film get here on MDL are definitely biased by the special "demography" of its users (mostly young women or teenage girl interested by mainstream, rom/com movies/dramas), and this kind of movie usually doesn't appeal to this public.

Same for me. But i think he will nail the role as he a great actor. Let’s look forward to it.
I don't doubt his acting skills, but after watching the first two episodes I'm still not convinced by him playing this character, even if physically he has indeed buffed up quite a lot to fit the role. But mostly I think this drama is terribly awful unfortunately, there is nothing I like about it.

I really thought it was okay until episode 6, but the last two episodes were really disappointing and annoying. It doesn't do the trick anymore for me unfortunately. Everything that happens, everything that is said and done by the characters is ridiculous. And it seems it will be the same with the next episode...

I seriously don't understand why they mess up adaptations like this one. The manhwa is really good, they could have adapt it as it was and it would have been perfect. But no, they have to change things and make it dull and frustrating. They made Kim Min Jun so annoying in this drama, and I wrote it in a previous comment already but, really, they shouldn't have cast Chae Jong Hyeok for this role, he really makes it worse for me.

If it wasn't for Seong Seung Ha and his alluring charm I would have stop watching this long ago.

But does Ha Min really get Do Ba Wo or is it because he read his journal? Like we haven’t actually seen them…
I don't know, but I don't think the way a relationship start is important. As long as genuine feelings develops after, not all good romances are love at first time from both or one of the protagonists. But I think this story is too short and undeveloped in any case so either way (Ba Woo and Hun or Ha Min and Ba Woo) it doesn't really work for me.

Heesu in Class 2! Although the premise is similar, it has an actual plot, chacter development, and you like all…
It's not my understanding of "Heesu in Class 2", for me it's the same as always. You can tell who will end up with whom from the plot only. It's a "love square", not a love triangle, so it's not like the third wheel end up with the main protagonist.

I don't understand how someone watching this story would still want to see Ba Woo and Hun ending together. Ha Min and Ba Woo would be (and look) much better together for me. But of course, as a BL, this is not what it will happen. The third wheel will stay alone and sad (or they will find him a replacement last minute like in most romances). I wish someday someone has the courage to write a script , film and produce a drama where the third wheel end up with the main protagonist and doesn't only serve as scapegoat for silly watchers.

Nothing more predictable and cliché than "Crushology 101", yet, in 2025, it still does the trick. That's the force of Korean rom-com dramas.

Even if you have seen countless times the same stereotyped characters, the same relationships developments, the same predictable tropes, with the right actors that have talent and chemistry, the right director that can film the scenes right, the right song that will punctuate each "butterflies in your stomach" scenes, it's a hit.

I though I was done with all that, but here I am, enjoying this one so much thanks to Lee Chae Min and Roh Jeong Eui.

The opening dragon scene was (surprisingly) good. It's been a while since I enjoyed such level of CGIs for a sageuk. And Kim Young Kwang is dazzling as Kang Cheol, he needs to lead a full (serious) sageuk, he would be perfect.

But after that, well, that looks like the same (boring) "sageuk" we got every year now : romance mixed with comedy, mixed with politics, mixed with every single tropes and cliché already seen a million times before (of course the Queen Dowager is an evil queen here too !). Just pick a genre and do it well seriously ! I don't get that this is what people want and get now all the time for sageuk. I'm tired of these mixes of all genres and tones. That's so boring and unpleasant to watch for me these constant changes of moods and tones through the episodes. I guess I'm not into the main cast neither, which doesn't help to get into it. Too bad, the plot was interesting but I'm not convinced by the execution so far.

Unfortunately I don't think the drama "Business as Usual" is a good adaptation of the original story, but he still gave me a very good impression, not only for his amazing good looks, he sure is handsome, but he do have a good talent for acting and I'm looking forward to see him in other projects and various roles.

Sun really needs a new representative agency, and I hope he will be cast for a new project soon.

Still nothing... I hate that. He is handsome, has a killer body, a grand talent for acting, he could portray so many various kind of characters, but he seems to have no project so far, nor an agency to represent him. He kind of gave up on YouTube apparently and even stopped to upload photos on Instagram. That would really be a shame if he went back to anonymity.

I think they really did a bad adaptation of the manhwa here. I don't feel a single thing while watching the drama that I felt while reading it. And it's not about miscommunication or characters perspectives or points of view or whatever, because that's also present in the original story, it's really the production and writing that are bad for me. And unfortunately they really poorly chose Chae Jong Hyeok to play Kim Min Jun too, in my opinion. He doesn't give justice to the character compared to the original story.

I hope he will change his representative agency, he deserves better than this creepy company. They are also terrible for promoting their artists, no Naver Post to share high quality pictures of their actors, no Youtube channel for behind the scenes or others video contents.

I read the manhwa after episode 2, and it's actually the only reason (this and Seong Seung Ha's handsome face) why I can keep watching this drama, because the original story is good and much more enjoyable (it's still a cliché BL story but it's nice) than the bad writing and production of this adaptation. That's unfortunate.
