You know Korea, they love to continue to milk the hell out of whatever content is working for them. First it's…
Don't be sorry, it just doesn't exist as a genre. Nowhere you will see revenge presented as a cinematic genre in itself. It's a plot and theme for many different genres, but not a genre on its own. "Rape and revenge" is a sub-genre, though it's a little bit different. But there is no problem if it is a genre for you.

I already feel sorry for Jeong Hyuck's character haha, but I'm glad to see him debut as an actor too, especially in such drama. And I hope we will hear him sing too (there is no way it's not happening).

anyone else not feeling this?it's just one of those things where nothing is appealing to me.
Yes, same here. None of the actors is bad, but none of them made me invested in the story too after the two first episodes. There is nothing to criticise about the production so far, the reconstitution is very good but yes, I'm not "drown" into it.

Of course, revenge is not a genre, none of them has it as a genre, not even "The Glory" or "Taxi Driver" that you consider the only revenge dramas. Revenge is only a theme and a plot or aspect of a drama. This list is based on the "revenge" tag for dramas here, that's it. But it shows that wheezythew8ve's point is correct.

Only two in two years ? No, far from it. You may have a personal definition of revenge drama that is more restrictive, but here are all the dramas with a revenge aspect and it's far from just two: https://mydramalist.com/search?adv=titles&ty=68&co=3&th=370&so=newest&or=desc&page=1

Title You Are Mine
The story was a bit silly, but Parker Mao and Hsiao Hung sure have an amazing chemistry and know how to deliver passionate kisses.

Yes, I expect a lot for "Queen Woo", I hope it will not disappoint. We will also have "Goryeo-Khitan War", that start just next weekend. This one looks very promising too.

I agree. As I wrote, it will be interesting to see this story told from Queen Wongyeong's point of view for once. I actually look forward to it, she was indeed one of the most political queens of Joseon and her actions, as well as her family, played a big part int the events at that time. It's just that, considering the few number of serious sageuk (meaning not rom-com) released every year, it's kind of disappointing to have one more sageuk about this period and these characters so soon, when there are countless other historical periods and characters ignored so far that could be portrayed too.

It's annoying that they keep doing such romances, where the feelings of the characters are obvious, and their actions too, but they keep making them misunderstanding and saying things they don't think, or assume things with the other not denying it immediately. I really whish they would stop that.
Of course it's needed at the start to add some frusrtration and build the relationship, but when all the drama is based on that, and to make things resolved only in the last episode, it's kind of annying for me. Especially when, like this one, the characters are good, the actors, story, developments and production quite good too.

It is probably because of their more intimate and bashful relationship to feelings that Japanese romances always seem deeper and on another level compared to those produced in other countries for me. The relationship to aesthetics is also different. Of course it wouldn't hurt to have more natural and passionate kisses more often haha, but as usual, the only fault I find in this drama is its format, much too short.

Visuels, trailers, the more they share the more I'm excited about this sageuk. Just 10 more days to wait.

King of Tears Lee Bang Won back in 2021-2022 was a good drama.
It was an average one for me. Didn't bring anything new to the previous multiple dramas and movies about the same subject. Not bad, but not good either for me. The last good epic sageuk I have watched is "My Country: The New Age" in 2019, and this one was very good, I love it.
