That's weird that this sageuk is presented everywhere as a rom-com sageuk with such main poster. It doesn't give the feelings that it will be a rom-com at all, which is, for me, a very good news. ^^ If this can be a serious sageuk with few humorous scenes that will be more like it.
As I've not watched any historical dramas of JCW I probably gonna watch this...But please don't kill him.🙏🏻😕
The plot of the drama is centred around King Gogukcheon's death and the fight for his succession. And Chang Wook plays King Gogukcheon, so it's not hard to know that his character will die in the drama.
Yes it makes sense, so maybe it was something else. I don't remember clearly so I need to rewatch it to see if I still see a plot hole or not. As for Yong Bi's behaviour, I really can't relate and understand how someone can live with that personally, but I understand why people would do that. It seems some people don't have a conscience or morality and can still live on after making awfully immoral actions.
Ah, good question ! ^^ It's been a while since I watched it so I'm not sure what we considered a plot hole. As I faintly remember, it might be that we never get to know why the woman "framed" them, when they were actually trying to help her. I think that was the reason. But maybe I'm wrong and it's something else and I need to rewatch it as it been several years already.
Shin Sae Kyeong crossdressing in this sageuk is totally ridiculous, thus it totally ruins the whole drama. The only good things are Jang Young Nam scenes. This sageuk is such a disappointment.
Once again, a potential great sageuk (yep, nowadays it's rare with all the cheesy rom-com sageuk they produce), and they ruin everything with this stupid and totally non-believable cross-dressing thing. The production is great so that's really a pity. Still very glad to see Jang Young Nam in a sageuk and playing a queen dowager again. She is really one of the bests.

I know my choice of words and the way I wrote is offensive, and I actually totally assume it, because I'm really not compromising anymore with the staff here. One thing is sure, I have nothing against you and I'm sorry if I hurt you in any way. Some of the staff members are good at what they are doing, but I had some arguments with some others because it's totally inconsistent what they do. Sometimes they just decide to not follow their own guidelines without any proper reason or instead they will stick to guidelines that are stupid (at least for me), when an edit could have made things clearer for people here (isn't it the goal ?). So for me they just abusively make their own rules, that's annoying. And they don't have a clear line of control over the work of the staff. Calling for their "superiors" (I don't remember the titles they have in the hierarchy here) don't change anything, I tried, but they never answered my messages unfortunately. So they can just impose their views to the users of the website. At that point, I'm done trying to be nice and I just rant in the comments when I see such stupid actions. I know it's not nice, and stupid too, I don't do this normally, but it's been a while now that I'm frustrated with the illogical decisions of the staff sometimes (of course it's not always like that, there is a lot of good work done) when I only tried to contribute freely, spending time to do research and provide sources for people to have good information about actors and productions and so actors and productions can be well presented here for everyone.

Rude for no reason ? Learn to read before assuming nonsense. The edits were already done with the characters titles, and multiple times with that, but some dumbass (yes, I won't change the word), submitted a new edit, removing the titles (who knows why ?), and the fantastic illogical staff accepted it. So no, I have nothing to learn here because the staff always make illogical choices concerning edits and keep changing previous edits that were perfectly fine and okay with the rules. They have guidelines that they are supposed to follow but choose not to follow them whenever they feel like it and it's only based on their personal decisions, so don't lecture me like I don't know what I'm talking about. I have contributed myself enough to know that there are a lot of stupid and illogical things done regarding edits on this website. Not happy with me fed up about it ? Well, that doesn't change what I wrote.
Once again, some dumbass edited the cast with the names of the characters only, when titles were previously indicated. Well done stupid people. When it comes to sageuk, it's important to keep or just have their titles. Why ? Well, to the stupid people doing that, have you ever watched a sageuk ? The characters are almost always called by their titles, so it's easier for viewers to identify them if you keep it in the cast section too. Edits should be useful to the viewers, please think before doing that.
1. 80 2. South Korea 3. Historical ; Romance ; Action 4. "D.P. 2", the only one that is in this article. 5. "Call It Love" ; "Utsukushii Kare Season 2" ; "Taikan Yoho" 6. So-so. Few very good dramas, often good plots but most of the time many disappointing story developments or characters depictions. I'm definitely not in sync with the current trends, which I found very boring and ridiculous. 7. I wish for very good sageuk dramas (please stop the historical rom-coms a bit !) and original plots that not mix all genres together or try to make characters paragons of all virtues all the time.
Recent depictions of homosexuals characters in sageuk dramas are not really good in my opinion, compared to characters in "A Crimson Mark" or "Frozen Flower", for examples. Why do they think they have to portray an homosexual man as very feminine, weak or thinking of himself as a woman ? Of course it's possible, but that is the only "type" we see recently. I would prefer to see a men romance between "manly" characters. This special episode is a good one nonetheless, with a great production, but I'm tired of effeminate homosexuals characters in sageuk dramas.
Yes of course, production-wise I don't have anything to say, it's a very well done drama, but the story wasn't for me, at least the development, because I liked the first episodes.
I expected some good quality CGI but for me it is a disappointment, amongst other things. Sure the cast is brilliant and they have a good level of production for the sets, costumes, etc., but I'm still not into it unfortunately.
What about Kingdom or Chicago typewriter then? Pretty good writing in both I think...
Didn't watched "Kingdom" because I'm not interested in zombies. ^^ I know it got a lot of good critics though. And I still haven't found the time to watch "Chicago Typewriter" so I can't tell, but this one seems very good indeed.
Very weak start for me, but I'm not really surprised, I haven't seen very good Korean fantasy-historical dramas so far (except the first season of Arthdal).
And again, we have the worst trope in a sageuk, the totally non-believable female character disguised as a man... I was excited by this one, but that one thing will sure reduce greatly the enjoyment of watching this sageuk. Too bad.
Definitely not a fan of Rowoon in his sageuk rom-coms, so I'm not sure what he is worth as an actor, but that's a nice news to finally see him in a project that doesn't involve romance (at least not at the center of the story), and with Seo Ham in it, if it's confirmed, it's very promising.
This series production is terrible, with really bad acting too, but I can't help, Meen and Ping are too cute, they are a perfect match and look so good together even when everything else is bad.
