Yes I agree too. But I think we will still have little gems like this one thanks to Japan because they are more open to "non-perfect" relationships and "weird" characters I believe. "Utsukushii Kare", for example, is quite popular (even though the ratings here aren't that good) despite many people not liking the weird relationship and reactions/thoughts of the main characters. We will see how the story is developed in the next episodes though because I feel like it can either become very disappointing or really good at this point.

That's not my point. I never do generalisation. My syntax might have been wrong because I didn't criticised all the women BL audience, only the ones that fantasise young men relationships but can't accept seeing relationships out of their social norms or too "realistic" to appreciate a drama (like this one), so the ones that are offended/disgusted/etc by the age gap and adult/minor (so far actual non-)relationship in "Minato Shouji Coin Laundry".
To quote an amazing tune from the awesome band which is Hot Chip! "Over and over and over again ." Enough already.…
Hum, I do understand your point but I think you are missing one big point too. They are Japanese. Even to these days Love and Sex are two big different things for most of them and they really have a "special" way to view and deal with these things in general. They don't have the same relationship to it than most western cultures so I think it's quite realistic even if it's tru that's a little bit frustrating.
First episode was boring and honestly made mad. Not putting the dog down when the ML knows that it's suffering,…
You know that it's a fictional story and that most people are irrational and act based on emotions in real life too ? Obviously it's a drama that try to convey a message so if you're not interested by it and just want an emotionless and only logic based story you should watch something else...
Off to a good start. Nothing fancy but the story looks interesting (and already heartbreaking...). Like this new side of Ji Chang Wook's acting as a thug.
The judgmentalism of a lot of the audience here is revolting. There's nothing wrong wih an 18 year old being with…
That's the problem of some of BL's audience. Or the problem is in the genre itself maybe, because there are too many light romance stories with only "pure" feelings so when a story is more realistic they are too shocked ? Personally I'm totally for more mature and more realistic stories like this one.
I really like the message convey by this drama and the way it is conveyed by the story and the actors. I think Akira will only accept his feelings for Shin in the last episode unfortunately, and we will just have more struggle in the upcoming episodes, but still, it's very good. Seeing some comments and the not so good ratings I find it really funny, in an actually not funny way, how some people are just stuck, in their brains, with some social norms and can't think out of them. Especially girls that are into BLs are the most stupid people here for me. They are constantly fantasying relationships between handsome young men but are still unable to understand that feelings and sexual attirance are biological and so very different than what modern societies think is acceptable regarding relationships. Boys or girls, a human body is ready for sexual and sentimental relationships quite "young" for some people and maturity is also different from one person to another so social norms that are different from a culture to another shouldn't shame adult/minor relationships. I'm someone who actually dislike age gap in real life and can't really imagine it being a good thing to develop a relationship, but what this drama shows is important and very well done.
Woah! What a surprise. I didn't expected it to be this good. The guys are actually quite good actors (especially In Tak!), the whole cast is very impressive, the story truly interesting and well made even if not everything is explained and resolved. That was a really clever debut film from FNC for P1Harmony. Highly recommended even for non-fans of the group.
China ban on Korean TV content since 2016 unfortunately.
When him and other actors (for example Park Min Young and Lee Jong Suk) took on these roles they never thought that the dramas would not be aired. All these dramas were filmed before the ban was decided. Luckily we got "The Whirlwind Girl 2" before the ban.
Ji chang wook has had a long and fruitful career. Every actor has 3 or 4 projects that don't do well. Calling…
I totally agree. But I believe it's hopeless to expect something different on that website. Childish, simple mindset is the trend on MDL. So few people try to really write comments more than two lines long, making their brain work by thinking, comparing, arguing (in an intelligent and good way) and trying to be objective. Well, I guess it's better to see it as a the power of attraction of Ji Chang Wook. Otherwise they would just totally ignore his projects. But it's sure is annoying to read the same stupid comments over and over.
Wow. This comment section has become rather toxic. JCW's last 2 dramas were good. TSOM was a global success and…
Yep, that's facts. But our poor Ji Chang Wook is like a straw bag that people love to punch. I don't get these people. If they dislike his dramas this much, why do they keep watching his projects ? And always referring to "Healer"... that's so annoying. The drama was in 2016, it's been 6 years, they really need to move on. I don't mind people expressing their opinions but the comments that are writing like it's general truth and making him dumb for choosing bad scripts really piss me off because it just shows that it's lazy people who don't even make the effort to understand the actor's intentions and reasons for choosing his roles. Ji Chang Wook's true fan don't love all his dramas probably, but they know and understand why he chooses these roles and are amazed by his acting, that's all that matter. Not all actors choose popular stories to appeal to the mass. One more reason to love Ji Chang Wook.
I hope the development of the story will not be wasted with the new characters coming in the next episodes, this is too good and cute. Akira and Shintaro are phenomenal characters! Asuka too. ^^
