That's so nice to see so many people still enjoying "Empress Ki" after all these years. A true timeless masterpiece. Looking forward to the ten yeas of the drama in 2023. :)
Oh my... This was so good from the start, and it keeps getting better. The ending should be amazing. I just wish it was longer. Japan is really bringing the best quality of BLs lately. Hope it will continue like this. Especially mature romance like that one.
Well, I understand what they are trying to show with this second season, and it's actually well done, but it feels like a waste of the love story between Seo Joon and Ji Woo, especially because it's not what viewers wanted to see, and I'm sure they know that. The production is good, but it's also disappointing because that's not what we expected for a season 2. Only two more episodes left, and if it's not finishing good for them (meaning together being happy again), it will really feel like a waste of the all story, even if it might be a good representation of a realistic relationship and people struggles in life.
I was a bit disappointed at the first episodes but it got really better over time and finally, even if it's not perfect (ends like the one of Park Gye Won are always a bit too much for me), it's a very good sageuk. Especially, it's been a while since a sageuk had good political feuds and interesting characters (they did a good job with the King that is far from being perfect). Good music, good production, beautiful cinematography.
Wow such a strong start ! That’s the first time I’m impressed by a Korean fantasy drama. The special effects are on point and the story is very interesting. Finally the kind of fantasy drama I was expecting from Korea. I like it very much ! Inspired by Chinese fantasy dramas/movies ? Definitely, so what ?! At least their acting is good, doesn't seem fake or weird like the Chinese ones I tried to watch before. And very happy that the ratings are good in Korea. Go go "Alchemy of Souls" !
My biggest problem is throwing an exgf into the storyline. This seems like a cop out. Is he gay or isn’t he?…
Well, I don't mind that. I don't care that Jin Woo has an ex-girlfriend. If it was an ex-boyfriend that would be the same. Well, maybe even more complicated. And I'm not into the communities thing so I don't get the "disrespectful" point. It's just that I expected more "butterflies in the belly" than sad faces and watery eyes.
They are the best in filming , not only bl, the only thing I think could be their weakness is a pure comedy movies,…
Well, the best in filming no, not for me, but they sure are very good. ^^ And for comedy, they are actually good (someone needs to like Japanese comedic sense to enjoy it of course, which can be weird haha).
Ok, so 4 episodes left and they will probably only really get back together in the last ten minutes of the final episode (or maybe not)... Ah, I have mixed feelings now. Ji Woo is way too passive and confusing with his behaviour. Is it that hard to do a drama with a happy couple, just having some hardships, but not always struggling to be together ? It's still good, but disappoint too at the same time.
This is so good ! Definitely, Japan BLs are the best. They are the only ones that can make such good dramas with such simple plots. And I'm all for the mature couple.
Ok, I think this kind of story his rubbish, but, why not ? If it's just the start. However, if, after the end of episode 2, they keep having Nine staying with his girlfriend and Daonuea pretends that he want to stay with Tee for few more episodes (10 remaining !) when the guys are head over heels for each other and secretly screw each other everywhere, it's definitely a sh*tt* drama.
Thank you for your comment. I hope more people can come to the same conclusions as you. It's okay if someone don't…
Well, "The Sound of Magic" and "Lovestruck in the City" did well, and I personally like them very much, so I don't think that two shows that were not big commercial hits after his military service mean that much over his whole career. He had popular dramas followed by less popular ones too before. He has played over 25 roles. His career cannot be resumed with only big hits dramas. I think he is growing his career just good, just as he wishes.
I have seen a lot of interviews this sweet man has given recently, and one thing is clear- the ONLY reason this…
Thank you for your comment. I hope more people can come to the same conclusions as you. It's okay if someone don't like a drama and complain about it, but that's important to recognize that it doesn't diminish the quality of the acting and, more importantly, the reasons for an actor to choose a role, especially when, as you reminded, he explained clearly his reasons many times.
Such a nice start for a simple and casual office romance. Japanese BL are definitely something else. At least they don't let things be dragged on, the pace is perfect for this kind of short and few episodes. Looking forward to the next ones.

I haven't found anything about it on Korean news.
