But the car with the bodyguards was right behind them. It still doesn't make sense for me :/

They had to hide first from the pursuer and then try to find a way out. In the serie there were no more pursuer so they could just stay at the truck and wait for the bodyguards to arrive.

I really loved the episode, but why didn't they stay at the truck? In the novel they had to hide in the forest because they were being pursued and had to hide. But here they weren't pursued and just left the truck...didn't make sense...
