The high rating made me curious so I decided to give it a try. Then one and a half episodes after, I just can't stand the female lead's actions (does she not have any pride when she was seducing the dude she barely knew?) nor her annoying high-pitched voice (oh god that angry voice when she was punching the pillow...). So yes, I can't get pass episode 2. Any convincing opinions to continue this?
I first discovered him in Yong Jiu Grocery Store by accident, and that one was a good slice-of-life drama along with Deng Lun's Mr. Fighting. After watching, Love the Way You Are, it made me notice him again but I still feel Yong Jiu is his best work yet.
How sophisticated. You do realize your just making it worse by showing how obsessed and emotional and his fans can be, right? Thumbs up for the honest comment above yours.
I just feel so detached from the 1st episode. I can't sympathize with any of the characters, especially Jin Se Yeon. I was excited to watch Lee Soo Hyuk again but I just don't care about the characters and their situations. Good example, Jang Ki Yong's super sad story 'cause his performance is kinda exagerrated (going crazy scene) while the fl's performance is underwhelming. Too bad, the concept is interesting but oh well will see.
I really like Deng Lun and I think he has a lot of potential but I only watched one decent drama from him and that is Mr. Fighting. He really needs more projects with good plot and characters to showcase his skills. And yes, as much as Ashes of Love was entertaining, the plot was so-so and his character was 2-dimensional and only pining for love.
I agree with the comment below. I'm still speechless after watching it a few minutes ago. It's that good. I'm going to make a review when I'm ready 'cause I'm still trying to absorb that ending.
To those who watched Reply 1994, did you notice that Chilbong reference in the church scene with Sung Dong Il? He asked Jung Won of he was playing baseball and Jung Won was wearing a similar baseball hat to Chilbong's! I almost missed it until I watched the episode for the 2nd time. Chilbong-aaaaah!!!!!
If you want recommendations of Tdramas then "The World Between Us" 我們與惡的距離 is good but a bit heavy.…
This is my first time watching a 45-episode drama too but it's actually entertaining and I just skip the supporting characters' scenes. If you're familiar with Janice Wu, she's the lead. Plus they have it officially on youtube and sub it everyday so it's easy to catch up.
Late reply but I highly recommend Dele if you haven't tried it. Haven't seen anything like it and the 2 male leads…
Btw, I agree with the person who recommended River's Edge. The first episode was suprising and made me uncomfortable with the first scene and confused but I kept watching 'cause it was just so unique. It's definitely not just a regular detective drama as the tone and cinematography is different. Very noir and artistic. Plus, I got to know the amazing Odagiri Joe. His performance here is just so charismatic and raw.
When it comes to detective / mystery, which country is the best? Please, only answer if you've watched at least…
Late reply but I highly recommend Dele if you haven't tried it. Haven't seen anything like it and the 2 male leads deliver. Also, N no Tame Ni. I got addicted to it that I finished it in 2-3 days. Btw, this is the drama where Kento Kaku met his wife, Eikura Nana haha.
If you haven't given this series a chance, I say now is the perfect time to start watching this as the show picked up its pace this week and gave its viewers a sense of familiarity with the characters. I gave it a 10/10 rating even though it hasn't finished yet because the friendship and slice of life plot is just what I need right now in this situation that we're currently in (self-isolation/quarantine) and exactly what I have been looking for in a long time after watching shows like Someday or One Day and Reply 1988 to name a few of my favorites. This review is coming from a person who watched over 500 Asian TV series and is very picky so I say trust me on this one if you're a viewer who prefers plot and character-driven shows.
This is a no no for me. Waste of a good cast though. The plot doesn't make sense nor do the characters' actions so don't waste your time. I struggled in finishing this.
