ur acting like she's not a responsible mature adult. If she doesn't mind, move on. It's not for you to decide…
however pissed off and sad i am that the whole CCIR discourse happened, the silver lining is that it's truly a prime example for misogyny 101.

this is 100% a worldwide issue and the main proof of that is that i have an equivalent saying to all of those in my own language and culture. when it comes to the industry, i could bring up example after example from the start of the industry until now and not run out of things to say. that's exactly why we have to keep bringing this up - no matter that it's "just ten years" or "they both look good together" or "they obviously don't mind" etc etc etc. cause it's rarely about those actors specifically. it's about what that culture and environment may bring that's harmful in the large scheme of things.

again, this specific casting isn't even problematic in and of itself nor is the age gap an ick (taking that they play their ages or i presume he may play younger idk) - it's just a commentary on the bigger picture, the environment that's led to this being a normal, everyday casting situation, and ultimately how it's just a symptom of a systemic issue. it doesn't mean the show will be bad. it doesn't mean anyone associated with it is wrong. it's not a question of morality. i just felt like commenting that this show can and should coexist with the criticisms of the systemic issues in the industry which symptoms you can see perfectly within this casting.

glad someone got where i'm coming from ❤

just bc you don't personally mind doesn't autoamtically mean it's 1) okay 2) without actual real life consequences.
and yeah, i think it does matter that you're male bc it tracks with the rhetoric you bring up. you seemingly not giving a fuck to any of my points about what this industry does to women, how it treats them, and how patterns like this can negatively impact young women just bc you "personally don't mind" is... a take.

ikr .. imagine it would be the other way around.. FL being 12years older.. the sh*tstorm
i totally get what you're saying dw! i was personally surprised at their age difference bc they looked of similar ages to me so i didn't understand when i saw people were apparently complaining about it. she genuinely doesn't look older than him - and both are gorgeous!

once again, the question is never about choice. it's about the environment surrounding the choice that makes one thing common and acceptable over another in the first place, which could be questionable. you keep leading a different conversation - which i never disagreed with, i'd like to point out. everything i mentioned are completely valid concerns and complaints people should bring up. and it doesn't take away anything you mention. i wish you allowed for just a bit of space for nuance in your take and actually listened to concerns, but whatever. different conversations.

edit to add: it might not change anything now, but it's kind of the same as to why i fight with my parents over conservative views when i know they won't change them - because my younger brother is listening, and i can change him. this is about trying to have a larger impact of telling those who ARE in charge of writing and directing and casting and putting these shows out there where they ARE looking for a 26yr old girl for a 38yr old man that we'd actually prefer them with actors in their own age ranges and that women aren't for the mother roles or the trash bin past 30. if we don't say anything now, they'll keep casting them like this and doing women dirty - and this very actress might not be too old for these roles in 10yrs. so that's the point. saying "why say anything it's not like things will change" isn't the mindset that brought in anything significant in the world ever lol

seeing how everyone caused a shitstorm for a woman daring to be 50 while the man is pushing 40, i would NOT have been surprised at the shit storm that would happen here lmao meanwhile the trend of casting much older men with young women continues everywhere. i love both of these actors and i'm excited for the show (heck, i might even dig the romance, who knows!) but this is truly exhausting atp

i think it's okay to point out society's misogyny with casting men opposite women decades their junior as romantic interests, especially when RIGHT NOW there was a shitstorm around crash course in romance where the woman is maybe a decade older and the man is pushing 40. it's part of a larger scale issue where men are allowed to prosper in their careers, remaining desirable and often even playing younger than they are when women are expired goods and struggle with roles past 35.

no one is calling her immature, irresponsible, nor saying that anyone is behaving inappropriately. this isn't even an ick-causing age difference. however, it's part of a pattern that seems to be going strong in the worldwide entertainment industry, and i do not see anything bad in the comments calling it out. you don't have to jump to be so defensive. saying they'd prefer to see the actress with someone closer to her age is not an insult lmao

a smidge more. lmao
y'know just a tiny lil' bit, to show that they tried! lol but other than that this is soapy perfection - and the production value and acting are more than decent.

He was good in Kill It and My Mister and decent in Come and Hug Me. I agree, though, that he just stood still…
so much wasted potential in mriag (tho i did only watch it for the second leads in the first place, i was coming over from start up lol - bae inhyuk was a lovely surprise however!) and yeah nwabu is better to not be spoken of. i'll be keeping his dramas you mentioned in mind, thank you for your input!

I liked him (and his work) in www and my mister 👌
my sister loved www and my mister has been one of those cult dramas i haven't gotten around to yet (it's actually shamefull what i haven't yet watched lol i find it much easier to keep up with ongoings than catching up on my backlog) but i definitely will be checking his work out at some point! as i said i find him quite charming and he does do his best with what he's given - sadly the two dramas i've seen weren't giving much at all! i really hope this breaks that streak for me. prayer circle!

Person Yoo Ah In
they need to let the man live jc just reading his bio it's obvious he has numerous chronic health issues and this is obv self-medication. also people in so many article comments jumping to call him an addict obv have no idea what they're talking about. anyways, since nafla only got probation (ilhoon as well after an appeal) i hope he does too - though i'm also afraid his level of celebrity status might have the court use him as an example... meanwhile they let offenders involved in SA and sex trafficking walk. disgusting. good luck, yoo ah in!

loved the director's work on snowdrop, and the premise sounds interesting. the actor is quite charming, however i've only seen him in my roommate is a gumiho and now we're breaking up - the first one i found meh, and the latter one was absolutely awful. so i truly hope this is better so i can finally watch him in something decent.

The only time Kim So Hyun worked with a solid actor on her par was with Yoo Seung Ho in 2017. The rest of her…
no, we just think that they all earned their roles equally through an audition process and deserve to be there just as much as someone who happened to already catch a big break and become respected as an actor. or will you now say that many idol actors such as sooyoung, yoona, yuri, minho, rowoon, chani, sejeong, etc are all untalented and undeserving? are they all beneath KSH? do they not all work hard and give it their all? or will you find excuses for those who you like? poor woman with fans like you.

i don't think y'all as her "fans" are being as helpful or supportive as you think you are by essentially bashing her costars - what i assume is continuously as you say this is a reoccuring event every time the rest of the cast doesn't fit your "standards". it's incredibly insensitive to claim all of those hardworking and talented individuals !) got there just by pure coincidence and not their abilities and then 2) that they suck so much - not the writing, not the direction, but THEM, THE ACTORS - that she had to "carry" the drama. it's insulting to so many, but also i cannot imagine how she would feel to see her fans discuss her costars like that. i bet she would be ashamed. to say they're not even solid actors? lol i wish i was this delusional.

she is 23 years old. she has all the time in the world to end up surrounded by mentors and senior actors. she also has a lot of star power apparently (i personally dropped love alarm bc it wasn't my cuppa but the fame is there) so ultimately let's acknowledge that it's also on HER for AUDITIONING or ACCEPTING dramas. if she wanted different environments, she'd choose differently

i don't mean any disrespect towards KSH bc she sure as hell doesn't deserve it, but if all her fans are like you, the YOU, THE FANS, need a reality check, and maybe she needs to remind you how to be RESPECTFUL and POLITE. or you'll turn this 23 year old talent into the least sought-after costar in korea.
