I should warn you, his character isn’t really nicely written imo😭 just watched ep7 and I’m HATING him now🥲
Thank you for the warning, Citylights. I do think that he is best at unusual roles, rather than leading man roles, so I might hate him in the show, but still love him IRL. ; )

yep I can feel we’ll be getting mid cliche episodes from now onthis whole fighting for the girl trope needs…
Yes, I concur. I find a lot of the Korean dramas have adults, when "in love," acting like 13 year olds. Giggling and blushing like Our Gang's Alfalfa. They practically arm wrestle for the "girl," like she is an inanimate object. It is tiring. On the other hand, it's better than the Chinese romances, where it's frequently all about who gets to dominate whom (That is, who gets pushed back on the bed/couch, by whom. Or who gets choked by whom (since when has that become considered sexy!!!!!!?????)).

Thank you, Jenny, for taking all that time to ensure that etoks21 knows that I am not "making shit up" and clarifying for her the difference between a "public person" and a "private person." All of those quotes, etc. took quite a lot of time to prepare. You are much more patient and smarter than a lot of folks on such forums.

At least, from what we can see from bts, Hmh seemed to have more fun in TUS than here. The whole atmosphere there…
Thank you for reminding me. I had seen those BTS before when he was sick, but I didn't know that it was for this show, especially with the time lag between filming and distribution. You are correct, it is terrible that his managers and the director didn't make sure that his health was better. He also should have had a better on-site doctor--real doctor--providing ulcer medication, pain medication, and so forth.

"They" is the courts who handed down the defendant's sentence. Of course, they can't sentence a person to harassment. I had thought that the courts didn't want the name reported, as some part of Chinese legal proceedings, but if the media has the choice, then we are back to what I said: the media doesn't want to be held responsible if a YiBo supporter were to do something bad.

Celebrities are considered "public persons." When they chose to be a celebrity, a celebrated person, they made themselves open to public scrutiny. Therefore, their actions can be reported on, just like the actions of the president of a country's actions can be reported on, to the public with full names shown. A celebrity has legally accepted this kind of observation. There is a line, that reporters and publishers should not cross, into a public person's private life. Some celebrities fight back when they think a publisher has crossed that line. Here Wang Yi Bo believed that the poster crossed the line and the courts agreed. But being a celebrity, Wang Yi Bo can expect to have much of his life reported in the media, just as other stars have theirs reported, with their names, etc. When a person is a celebrity, the assumption is that they WANT publicity. The fact that some names can be found in court records/ public records does not absolve someone who broadly publishes this information to mass numbers of people from potentially bearing responsibility as an accessory if something bad were to happen as a result.

It's not much but it's something...Why are the full names of accused or even convicted criminals so often protected…
Because there are so many insane fans that posting someone's name is akin to putting them in harm's way as it likely would lead to extensive "pay back" by Wang Yi Bo's supporters. The supporters could go beyond harassment to as far as mutilation and murder, thereby making the courts, legal, police, and media (any group/person that posted the name) accessories to such crimes. If you incite others to do harm, and it can be proven that you knew there was a high likelihood that such harm would take place, you can be found guilty of being, in US terms, an aid or "accessory" to the crime. They are protecting themselves, not the defendant.

I watched this series today. It is good but I have so many doubts. I just can't understand what is the purpose…
1) What sasa1810 says is correct, and 2) the scriptwriters need a reason for Hiro to become more curious about Cha Mu Hee and to continue in his pursuit with some hope that she will reciprocate his feelings. So it's mainly there to provide a reason for Hiro's actions and just barely fits as something that DoRaMi would do.

I see, you mean the song that ran when the producers were watching the footage of the two on the red carpet? Sorry, I don't recognize the music and it's not part of the OST. Probably it is in the credits as licensed music, but I can't read them. Sorry.

It's great that Neo Hou gets to work with many of his former colleagues and, I assume, friends. Wonder if he put in a good word for them? He certainly seems to be having more fun acting in this show than "The Unclouded Soul," although he performs very well in both.

Am I missing something? I'm on ep 10 now but the ML seems to not be sincere in his feelings. It's putting me off…
When he was taken in as a servant, yes, he was calculating. This was because he was alone and had to survive. He is very smart, so he used his head to do so. Even then, there is a scene where he has to lean close to the FL and he gets totally flustered and frozen in his tracks. This is to show that he was falling for her from the very beginning, even while trying to survive. I can't remember the episode, but it was a very important, although brief, moment.

Ming Hao he's too sweet for FL, they don't suit me as a couple, I don't feel the chemistry, I immediately felt…
Remember him when he was the Royal Inspector? If you think of this as being his true, fully informed character and manner, then I think he is a good match. Having no memory and only trying to survive in the "Tea House" I can see him falling for the FL and using every wit and tactic he has to reel her in. Without her he has nothing, no love and no life. He is demonstrating his intellect in very different situations. He retains his ego, imperiousness, and cunning to get her. Only with her does he allow her to have power over him. This is often the case with very strong men.

truly a one of a kind of drama, if anyone has any recs for something similar pleaseeee
I wouldn't call Immortal Samsara similar since it is about immortal beings and full of true tragedy, but in terms of being a great drama it significantly exceeds this one and is better in every way. Including the soundtrack with my favorite song being "Record of World of Mortals" sung incredibly by Jason Zhang. The ending of the song is amazing. I say this even loving Neo Hou and his singing in the OST this show. If Neo Hou had been in Immortal Samsara he would have been pushed to even greater artistic heights.

What about this comment from ZLH? "Talking about it, Zhang Ling He shared in an interview, "It's the first…
I think that she held him up a great deal, but they also had the crane there to assist. So she probably did a lot of it, but I doubt any show would risk seriously injuring the female lead. Zhang Ling He is a gentleman and good at publicity. If the FL wants to emphasize how much she worked at gaining strength, which is true, I am sure he would not contradict her or say anything to undermine her. She may have carried him during practice, but they usually shoot scenes many times back-to-back. Could she have done this on her own, over and over? She did carry him across the courtyard. Maybe she did that scene in one or two takes, but the scenes where she carried him across the open roads, I find difficult to believe. Just looking at the pictures, looks like a difficult feat from a weight distribution stand point: he is so long. That's just my opinion. Maybe she did do it all. I wasn't there.

I am pretty sensitive to bad noses/nose jobs and I don't see anything wrong with these two fine actors' faces. Kim Soon Ho has a sharp nose, but it is fine for his face. Go Youn Jun has a lovely nose. I am sorry that such things distract you from the fine performances of great actors. It must be difficult.
