Many people think macro expressions is good acting. They'd stop judging acting if they record themselves for a day and see how bland their face looks, how stone faced they look for most of the day, and how most of the time they only do micro expressions and not macro expressions

Why would she do that instead of betting her odds on the crown prince whose men literally saved her and ML from getting killed, who also allowed them to travel together with them. Why would she not bet her odds on someone who seems righteous and is willing to save poor people. And she can't even afford to be cautious while being without a house, money, without anyone to support. What is she protecting by having to be cautious? Only people who have something to protect them can afford to be cautious. Some People who are desperate to survive with nothing to hold onto, will take chance with any opportunity that presents itself.

Mrs Yu wanted to gift the book to the Prince, not to sell it just to attend a gathering. Since she is representing Mrs. Yu, if she was humble enough to say she can't get a good gift and it would be better if Ms. Yu could help her with the gift, Ms. Yu would have actually started respecting her.

That's the thing, the characters aren't perfect, people aren't perfect, people do things in circumstances they shouldn't do. So what there is a possibility that crown prince could punish her on a whim? She felt taking the chance is much better than becoming a concubine, remaining powerless. She ain't going to navigate nothing being powerless and without any backing. The reason she survived the poisoning in the first place was because she secretly sent word to the ML for help while being imprisoned in the temple even though she doesn't know him my much and even though she put a bounty on him. There is absolutely nothing wrong with what she did lol. And the characters behave and act based on what they think is right, not what the audience think is right.

Being bold doesn't have anything to do with being born in the modern world or Ming dynasty. Humans aren't any different from then to now. And near death experience doesn't mean people become cowards. Most of the time a near death experience like that, with so many people betraying you, only makes become more hardened and fight harder to survive.

And FL would have helped her be with her cousin if it was love, but no, it was just for securing a status. She was acting as if the FL prevented her from being with the person she loved when she didn't give the flower pot to her cousin.

The grandmother doesn't mind killing her grand daughter, doesn't mind killing servants left and right but she couldn't just hold that widow whom she absolutely hates hostage and torture her to make her brother withdraw the rumours?

Sure, people won't hate a pathetic crappy person who enjoyed the benefits of being with a rich girl, shamelessly accepted any gifts she gave, and shamelessly absolutely betrayed her best friend. I don't know why the heck would you be surprised that people absolutely hate a pathetic loser who would betray her best friend.

If the drama creators listened to these dumb people talking about ML's screen time when only 4 episodes have been released, we wouldn't get legendary dramas like Story of Minglan. The things I usually like about Korean movies and chinese drama/movies is that they aren't 'male lead/female lead' centric, they aren't ' protagonist centric.' It is about a group of people and how their life changes or get impacted. Now so many fans are trying to destroy it by demanding 'protagonist' centric stories.

She is a great character and friend but I only wish they could reduce the sound of her voice a few decibels. The sound of her voice feels like it is piercing my ears.

What the heck is wrong with the FL in the novel, repeatedly dating the wrong guys and then again dating the same guy😭 or I must say what is wrong with the author for writing her like that. In the drama she looks like someone who will not compromise when it comes to love and is not hestinant to breakup and avoid the wrong people

Unless you have not experienced your loved ones getting beheaded and the whole country cursing them and demonising them for something they never did, you'd not know how short 8 years can be and how agonizing it can be. Only a person who can't understand real terror and tragedy or who haven't been through tragedy would speak naive like you. When I was depressed 6 years flew by like days, 8 years is nothing.
