Ep 11 was like, "Let's condense 16 episodes into 12 and put it all in Ep 11!"
I feel the complete opposite. Why drag something for 16 episodes with unnecessary side plots when they can make it as a normal paced drama into 12. ep 11 rocked. Hope 12 will be a nice wrap as well.
Out of topic, but2026 dramas have been quite unsuccessful for me, except for this one. And since there are only…
Venture into Cdramas. Whole new world! theyre also releasing episodes daily so ita spread, but its difficult to watch lots of dramas at once. Currently there is Dazzling on Viki with hometown cha-cha-cha vibes, which is just a lovely, sweet watch so far.
I get it many are not used to slow pacing dramas. Someone earlier replied to my comment and said they are used…
I don't even think it is particularly slow pacing. I think it is just right. It's a business focused drama, we get to learn a lot about the importance of ink and ink making in those times, which I think is great.
The leads relationship is also improving, they're clearly friends and very comfortable with each other, he gives her space to achieve what she wants and does not try to pursue her visibly since he has a mission too, but I think it really works well in this setting. I don't feel it would be too slow burn or anything, it feels very natural to me.
I also really appreciate how their dynamic with Li Jing Dong changed and how his entire family became so supportive of her.
Overall, I think it is very low rated and gets lots of hate for being repetitive, which again, yes, there are hurdles on the way, they're all originating from the which 4th aunt, but they're all different though. I don't think it's lazy writing, it's all very new problems she is facing and it is very different case by case how she gets through them.
(Oh, by the way, its not only the 4th aunt, but those Elders. Where are they even coming from? as JingDong said, they were very happy when Li Zhen fixed everything and got the ancient ink sorted, etc, but whenever there is a problem arising, they want her head. brrr)
If I had this much non-stop drama in my family I would personally disown all of them myself. I would voluntarily…
your comment made me giggle. But very true. she should have just minded her own business and stick to the New Li ink shop. though I like her dynamic with her uncle and her cousin, at least they're working in the inkshop, the rest of the Li family are leeches.
someone else said it, its more like Home town Cha-cha-cha, she comes from money and Bejing, hes a village guy who fixes everything to pay back their debt and help his family. I dont think the story similar to Speed and Love apart from the fact that they are "relatives" which theyre not in either of them. And also, he does everything to make her more comfortable, similarly to Speed and Love but I prefer his ways in this one.
I found Speed and love's story telling and editing very sloppy and I think the beginning was not explained well.
I also dont think edits can compare, its very cute, but then I really like Li Yun Rui, so happy hes getting nice lead roles now. I dont think ive seen Guan Xiaotong before though she is very familiar, hut i do think she is a very good actress, and her character has already changed significantly during rhe first 5 episodes (im watxhing on viki so only 5 are out). I'd give it a go, its drawing you in :)
Love it! This drama is such a lovely surprise, but I should have gotten used to that from Li Yun Rui. I keep on thinking where I've seen Guan Xiao Tong, she prper makes me believe she is a highscooler. I looked her up and shes 29 already. I've seen comments criticising her at the beginning, but honestly, it just proves she's doing a great job.
This is the slowest slow burn I've ever seen.. I wish second couple got more screentime. There are too many side dramas in here, its more lawyer focused drama than romance it feels.
Ep 17... As much as I enjoyed the beginning, I feel like giving up watching the village dude wanting to be a star that has zero to do with the ML and FL. Too many filler episodes for my liking about poeple I don't particularly care about.

I do like the friendship between Li Zhen and Qi Jiu, hope he'll reveals his identity soon.
4th aunt can go and eat grass... grrrr
