One of the all time greats

I don't need to review this. But if for some reason you are still debating whether or not to watch Goblin and are reading this review, you definitely need to watch it. It's not that I think everyone will love it because humans have varying taste, but if you like K-Dramas, there is a very good chance you will love this one. And since the chance you will love it is high, why not give it a try?

Adorable story that went on a few episodes too many.

I mostly watched this show because the book it is based on was written by the same author who wrote the book that A Love so Beautiful was based on. A Love so Beautiful is one of my favorite Chinese dramas so I had high expectations for Put Your Head on My Shoulder. Both shows give you an adorable, fluffy feeling that leaves you smiling by the end of each episode. But this show turned the "cute dial" up a few notches. Unlike A Love so Beautiful, the male lead in Put your Head on my Shoulder isn't confused by and doesn't try to hide his feelings for the female lead. He does most of the chasing, and my favorite scenes involved him attacking his romantic problems as if they were a math equation or a puzzle that needed assembling. I'm not implying that he had a sterilized approach to romance, because he tried very hard to be romantic, he just didn't know how to do it naturally so he studied and did a lot of practicing. This attitude of his set the scene for a sweet romance. However, because the male lead worked so hard at the relationship and was so open about his feelings, the female lead, while being well written, was not quite as likable. She was very smart, hard working, and strong, but she was also a little annoying. She spent too much time snapping at people and pretending to misunderstand them when she obviously knew exactly what she wanted. But because this is an Asian drama, I expected one character to be more likable than the other, I was just surprised the male character turned out to be the more likable of the two. While I didn't like this anywhere near as much as A Love so Beautiful, I definitely reccomend this drama. It's very light and funny, the male lead is adorably romantic, the female lead is uniquely strong and imperfect, and the supporting cast is entertaining.

A timeless masterpiece.

I could write a very long review that included all the things I loved about this drama, but then you wouldn't be able to discover all of those wonderful things for yourself. While the plot is nothing like Goblin, this show is the only show that even comes close to being the same kind of good as Goblin. The romance had a similarly epic and timeless feeling, and the friendships were just as strong. It also has beautiful cinematography, clothing and set design. Just like Goblin, every single person taking part in Chicago Typewriter wanted to make it a beautiful and entertaining experience for the viewers,  and also like Goblin I happily cried buckets of tears while watching it.

Again, dont expect a Goblin clone, this show is one of a kind, just expect to love it just as much or maybe (If you're anything like me) a little bit more.

Lots to love, but too many episodes.

I love the main actors, the chemistry between the entire cast was amazing, and this show contains one of the best kissing scenes I've ever seen. But unfortunately the plot dragged on too long, and the female leads inability to choose between the two best friends frustrated me. It seemed obvious which friend she truly wanted because she had liked him for such a long time, and after a while it felt like the only reason she wasn't choosing him was to punish him for not wanting her at first.

In fact, all 3 main characters could be very petty and vindictive so that made me care very little about who was going to end up with whom. Still love the chemistry between the cast though, and if you dont mind fast forwarding through the boring bits,  it can be a fun drama.

Former favorite drama that did not age well.

This was the first K-Drama I ever watched so that's why I've rated it so high. There would have been a time where this was an automatic 10 stars because it really was great compared to the other dramas I had seen at the time, but now I've seen too many great dramas to give this 10 stars. However, if this frustrating drama about an adorable, plucky young woman falling in love with a very smart and cold young man was not so addictive, I never would have started watching dramas in the first place.

However, if I were rating this drama for the first time today, it would be more like 6 stars for me. Oh Ha Ni is still adorable, but watching her chase after a boy who so obviously didn't like her, is too annoying. And I'm not annoyed because he didn't like her, he had a right not to like her, I'm annoyed because she wouldn't respect that he didn't like her and let it go.

But even though her unwillingness to let him go frustrated me, I was still very happy when she got what she wanted in the end. The girl worked hard and got her man, and he was nice to her after a while.
