Yes very pitiable characters and your heart aches for their 'deformity' not by any fault of theirs - just throw of dice of life.
I LOVE the parallel that is set up between Qmin's and Marquis in their 'single focus love interest' Somewhere in my heart I am still hoping that the script (drama) will give him some redemption (if you watched DOUBLE .. you'll know .. a character can be given some redemption)

Yeah these were definitely STRONG OFF notes .. I switch into "Pink Panther" lenses when these 'tears and frayings" appear in this drama .. because otherwise it's been such a pleasurable ride and I am too invested in my 'feel fun moments'
Occasionally the "be good-be kind" preachy dialogues also made me cringe when it took more than necessary screen time; however I excused it as the fallout of watching the drama binge mode .. It would not feel that way, maybe also about the repetitiveness that sometimes comes through if I was watching it as it was airing .. ep by ep daily and not the entire 32 eps over 2 day binge
There are only 7 eps left, and there’s still so much to unfold. Xie Zheng is portrayed as a Marquis and a war…

Although I was aghast that the scriptwriters got away with it .. but I still chuckled because my mind wore the "Pink Panther" lens ..
It somehow fitted into the "silly" effects strokes that drama keeps consistently serving up ..
