U r correct on Runyu. For me Lyx acting feels v raw bcs he embodied Runyu. TTj is his next level acting but it is acting.
However in term of growth TTJ surpassed Runyu. He was born with a script, to experience all kind of torture and humiliation to the point that he doesn’t want to be alive. He is not really evil in fact he shows kindness to bird and animal, he was a good ruler of the country despite all his previous sad background. It would be understandable if he becomes a cruel ruler esp wt his evil bone. The conflict inside TTJ is greater than Runyu. At the end the facts that this “demon fetus” can transform into someone whom sacrified himself for all being is a huge journey. More than what Runyu goes through.
It’s his inner strunggle journey that leave a mark for me. It’s a really hard and tragic 500yrs old life and ended in sadness. Runyu at least he is alive.
For me in term of character growth and greatness nothing will surpassed TTJ. Not even CWN will. But in term of my fav character. Runyu is equal TTJ bcs I’m bias wt Runyu as my 1st c drama. As for Cwn I will decide when it airs
And for Xianxia I doubt the next 5 yrs anything going to topple Ttoetm. Unless Hyx airs bcs hyx story is better. I don’t know abt Sly. I’m not into the novel story.
