Beautiful and rare story about Humanity, Character growth and Forgiveness.......
LCR can be summed up as “The world is better because of you” This is not a fluffy romance drama and required a mature audience to unravel this beautiful story about humanity. LCR story is adapted from China Blue Sky Rescues volunteer including its rescue scenes. It portrayed different aspects of humanity through 6 main characters and their actions not always what audience wants to see…but happening around us…. It is a rare touching story of the real Hero in our world.The drama tells the growth of 6 different people, all live in their own worlds some with dark past/traumas, whom received kindness through rescue and overcoming their own pasts/struggles to become light for others through rescue….
In the Mv songs…”When the world did not give me a good start”…That’s how our Leads childhood stories begin…both are orphans victims of natural disaster….and grew up taking different paths to patch their traumas….One savvy successful cunning lawyer and one smart, cautious cold doctor who close herself to outside world….As their not so great start begin, it took many twists and turn before they got together and when they did…one big revelations during their childhood trauma is unravelled (a huge surprise) that lead to their love struggle…..one that need a huge courage to overcome….
You all start with hating LB and boy how much I love him at the end despite all many tragic events he went through for being real, brave, courageous, kind, smart and forgiving…..LB is a true warrior…
We have 2nd couple who are big sweethearts and the 3rd ones that well can do with less screen time.
LCR showed a dozen + amazing rescue scenes. My favs are the earthquake, mudslide, and cave, some channeling Hollywood production…. Finale Glacier rescue is Epic, movie texture quality and cinematography and one that I did not think C Drama is capable of making such a harrowing scenes…
Acting:
Lyx a season actor he showed all aspects of LB multi-faceted traits eloquently, vivid, delicate and detailed. His ability to deduce the state of his character is thoughtful and accurate. In the last Finale rescue, he blown me away with one of the best acting I’ve seen in C drama and I just witness the explosive growth of this talented actor. ……..Hat’s off to Lyx for performing many dangerous stunts himself.
My first WQ full drama. I like her takes as cold doctor. She is truly an underrated actress with solid acting skill. Most support actors are good, only a few weakling…
All 6 main characters are original voice and they are all good, but especially LYX....This rare in C drama....
OST: I keep looping it and how the narration really fits this story of growth….not able to FF the opening song and ending song each time....

This drama turned out so GOOD
Plot is fast pace, no “filler” plot, not many stupid scenes or slow-motion as we find in many C dramas. I always waiting for the next episode. Don’t miss this Gem if you like rom-coms drama with a real plot. I consider Love is Sweet/LIS (same production company, same ML and support actors) is pure rom-coms, I like LIS but I like Lie to Love MUCH BETTER for the PLOT.Lie to Love has many advantages: All the character IQ is logical, you don’t have weak FL. Both ML & FL are good looking. Cinematography is more beautiful than many C drama on par with LIS. Both ML and Villains have good matching IQ that makes their attack and counterattack worth watching. Wonderful OST. Clothing is really good for everyone not just our ML & FL.
Acting review 2nd most important after Plot for me: Luo Yunxi again nails Li Zeliang 1000%. Every stage is performed well (from weak to counter attack stages). LYX acting has a lot of depth & detail and I found to be so rare among C drama actor his age. What makes his performance brilliant is he brings you into LiZeliang world, you smile when you see him smiling, you are emphatic seeing him hurt, and you feel his pain when he is in pain. This is what a good actor is, transport you inside their character story and life. On the support actors, 90% of them are great, Villain Uncle, Aunty, Chu2, Yi Song even the Child actress perform well. My only complaint is our FL. Her performance is not stable and lacking emotions, some parts okay but others rather hard to follow. CX is beautiful many said she improved, but is it enough to be FL? However overall, ML and other actor superb acting and fast pace plot actually making you not paying much attention to her acting. So overall impact is fine.

A Classic Fairly Tale Drama, best ever
Ashes of love is my no 1 Top Fairy Tales drama Ever so far. It is long, could be shorter but everything else is perfect. Somehow it manages to blend the Casting, the emotional Story, CGI, the funny and the heart breaking elements seamlessly that makes AOL Classic and unforgettable drama ever. At the end of 2021 haven’t seen anything else that tops AOL.OST is so good, amazing. Still listen to them 2 years later.
Acting: No one, absolutely no one has awkward acting here, this is so rare. YZ, DL and LYX are all first rate. But especially Lou Yunxi, how as a villain, millions of watcher rotted for him. Only exceptional character interpretation with out of the box acting can achieve this rare phenomenon.
Runyu is the best character written I’ve seen in C Dramaland. Leo Luo delivered Runyu beyond everyone expectation. No wonder the C official newspaper stamps Runyu as top 10 CLASSIC character in last DECADE. Usually after watching a good drama, I would forget about these characters, but Runyu is different, I remember him years later. I don’t forget his voice, his classic phrases his smooth flight scene, his elegant walk, his tears and pain, his madness and redemption at the end. Perhaps if Runyu is not made in China, LYX would have won an award for his performance.
I have yet to see another character as memorable as Runyu, but perhaps when Immortality airs, LYX cold but super complex "Shizun" might have a fighting chance to top Runyu.

I would say there is not much plot/story line, watching this drama is as light as enjoyable as watching famous US sitcom “Friends”. OST is also light but well done. Perfect weekend watch to distress.
Both our ML & FL has good acting. My 1st time watching Lou Yunxi modern drama and I was so pleasantly surprised after watching his costume drama. Were these characters acted out by the same actor, the contrast is so unbelievable. Natural is the key world for his acting. I can compare him on par with my fav. US actress in famous comedy “Veep” Julia Louis Dreyfus who won 5 Emmy awards for Veep only. Watching Yuan Shuai reminds me of her in Veep, effortlessly natural acting. I want to see him more in Comedy drama.
