I think that was fans speculation only. Yes Youku was accused of doing it, but they answered Leo fans and said No they did not buy those crazy trending tag and said will start suing incl those who slandered Leo. After youku sent lawyer letter, the attack is milder and it started to move to other cast.

One thing as you read more, a certain part in TTOETM mimicking HYX part (not the other way around cause HYX novel is there earlier).
TTOETM drama is lacking classic lines, where are HYX are just full of them.
The lines pp will never forget. Most 2ha readers remembered them for years, they are beautiful. Meatbun writing is a world apart compares to TTEOTM novel, it is much more layered, fluid, organized, literary, and bloody. It takes your heart apart chapter by chapter. This is the best novel I have ever read among hundreds.
