I saw a discussion in C abt the $ youku spent on TTEOTM promo.
While they spent on big screen across china and the world, they actually spent v little on Hot trending weibos, which is full of mostly paid slander by competitor. Ex of heavy weibo promotions are no 1 Lighter and Princess , 2 LLTG, 3 Yang Mi Xu Kai drama last yr. Each with over 4500 trending weibos.
One trending weibos no 1-3 in 2020 cost US $8-10K, it does not guarantee the amount of reading but the ranking. So at the end, Youku still does not spent as much compared to those drama.
