i don't think she believes her parents will ever come around to the idea [i mean... they've clearly stated that, even when prem tried saying her love for pat is similar for her mum's love for her dad--it didn't work], so she chose her parents instead of pat.

it's not like she didn't try to set boundaries! when she thought there was still a chance they'd accept pat, she tried setting them multiple times. telling them she didn't want to be with krich, letting pat meet her parents to see their love with their own eyes...

i think part of it is she doesn't want to hurt her mum [both mum's own feelings on it and the father blaming her for prem "turning out that way" and yelling at her about it enough to make her cry] and she didn't want to keep pat waiting and stress her out.

it's one thing having a psychologist assure you that you're an adult and you can have boundaries and another to deal with the consequences of asking for those boundaries...

therapy won't magically fix her parents being shitty if she still wants them in her life, unfortunately. she's aware that her mother was cruel when she asked for their breakup as a birthday present but did it anyway because she didn't want to lose them, how would therapy fix that?

ok,, ping's mum only realising that she went to far when ping tells her she should've killed him earlier and not coming back that night sorta echoes phana only realising he likes ping after being a bit too rude when telling ping they shouldn't be so close and ping disappearing.

i mean,, i guess it explains why phana is so understanding of ping's mother but still 😭 wish ping didn't have to be drawn to people who reject him so harshly and then ask for a second chance

i'm just so baffled with this series, i don't even know what they were trying to do. why keep the shibata and shozo storyline if the runtime is this short and they're not ending up together anyway 😭 the incest backstory was so clunkily included that i don't even know why they wanted to keep it in the first place ? i feel like the writers were writing for a longer runtime which..., is fine but did they not go back to the script once they found out it was six episodes ? 😭 they needed to be more okay with killing their darlings < /3

i truly... can't recommend.

wow unexpectedly long paragraphs in this comment section that i cant be bothered reading. i was gonna watch this regardless of how good it was so my expectations were on the floor. the story is so interesting but the adaption of the novel isn't that great, i feel like reading the novel parallel to the series really helped me out haha
