engaging but messy story
what actually stood out to me the most was the show’s ability to maintain a good balance in regards to the overall mood despite having a premise dark in nature was quite well done. a lot of shows in the genre with dark tones tend to tamper the mood and being either overly serious or just plain corny. generally hard to find shows in this genre with appropriate pacing within the usual limitations too, I actually didn’t have any gripes with the time skip. I think the only issue I had honestly was the story in that second half following the time skip fell off a bit for me, the momentum was a bit too clumsy. mostly in part to the characterization change I think just too suddenly became erratic and bipolar to maybe be believable. but there’s enough substance to the plot overall to be engaging
