interesting premise overall solid commitment
was grateful the premise was substantial enough to drive the pacing of the plot pretty naturally. I think the writing only fell short in the last 2 episodes, especially the final 3 or so scenes. otherwise, despite the story’s effort to be more complex, it actually was able to work out without many plot holes through the main progression. definitely harder to find shows able to achieve it in this genre. and as far as I can tell, even the ending being written flimsily seemed to be faithful to the source material funnily enough.. at least according to reviews I’ve read of the novel. I think at times, the romance felt somewhat misplaced, but I realised the passage of time in the story was stretched wider than indicated so it couldn’t help but feel a bit choppy. can see why people commended this show in its commitment to pass for a regular televised drama despite its minor hiccups and the usual budget limitations for this genre. overall thoughtful scene production to raise the value was appreciated, though the AI in the opening sequence was definitely jarring despite the fact I’d always skipped it anyway. seems that in the effort to seem higher budget, they got lazy in that regard without actually being able to afford to do so, in addition to the misfortune korea has no stigma towards AI even among the art community. characterizations were a bit exaggerated but there was the same issue of an unconvincing ex-cop that didn’t seem necessary. I think the corniness mostly stemmed from the fact they attempted doing too much in lieu of the story being dark in nature. music editing was mildly awkward in certain spots but not off enough to ruin the scenes.tldr a pretty engaging show that’s able to maintain good momentum for the majority of the show despite the story leaving several conflicts seemingly unresolved in the end. might follow up with spoilers separately to pick on the specific scenes towards the end I had gripes with

engaging but messy story
what actually stood out to me the most was the show’s ability to maintain a good balance in regards to the overall mood despite having a premise dark in nature was quite well done. a lot of shows in the genre with dark tones tend to tamper the mood and being either overly serious or just plain corny. generally hard to find shows in this genre with appropriate pacing within the usual limitations too, I actually didn’t have any gripes with the time skip. I think the only issue I had honestly was the story in that second half following the time skip fell off a bit for me, the momentum was a bit too clumsy. mostly in part to the characterization change I think just too suddenly became erratic and bipolar to maybe be believable. but there’s enough substance to the plot overall to be engagingWas this review helpful to you?
fun watch with good acting from full cast
acting really underrated honestly compared to other works in this genre that get gassed up but are actually terrible.. episode lengths were plenty long enough to me considering most other shit nowadays manages to be like 5 mins come on lol and genuinely don’t know why there’s so many comments on so-called plot holes because it was actually very clear they were trying to provide context for literally every element of the plot. but to be fair I guess that’s just the usual audience anyway zzz nobody knows how to pay attention properly. singular thing I can agree on was it just wasn’t realistic but what was anyone supposed to expect ? so what if the cop was bad at being a cop lol they said it themselves anyway. and the leads didn’t particularly have chemistry but honestly I didn’t care the story was fine for me genuinely compared to loads of other works again that are worse by a long shot with actual plot holes and cheap lazy writing.. and no time wasted on triangle bullshit or misunderstandings etc since the romance wasn’t intense which was fine. was able to enjoy all the characters and their connections a lot better. possibly memorable? rewatch value only low because I personally don’t rewatch most thingsWas this review helpful to you?
modern $2 soap opera
story was soapy cliche and not engaging. what stood out to me the most was the production making this look exactly as if it was made in 2005 like lol that in itself is impressive but not in a good way.. the music editing was so wonky like a lot of dollar and a dream shows in this genre unfortunately. acting was hit or miss at diff points but if you normally like killing time by binging old school soaps (I kinda do actually lol) this is exactly the show for youWas this review helpful to you?

good character development light watch
plot was nothing complex but it makes for an easy and light watch. all the characters were actually likeable and the growth in the leads through the show was acted and written well, you can see them progressively become more open and expressive. really good coming of age in this genre honestly. I think only thing stopping me from giving it an 8 is probably just how it was very simple as it’s more of a slice of life slow paced low momentum story but the series is quite long so some people may get bored, but personally I was still able to finish all the episodesWas this review helpful to you?
easy light watch
probably one of the most solid in comedy shows in this genre! simple and straightforward story too so no room for plot holes and isn’t tryhard in being some unnecessary mess that a lot of shows with this length hack up without substance. acting was okay and production was fine. only gripe was probably the very last scene with the beach since it’s so overused and cliche but I can see why this show kept coming back for more seasonsWas this review helpful to you?

bone dry
pretty terrible. maybe there’s starting to be some oversaturation of reincarnation premises in this genre now but intially the roles seemed more interesting.. the writing turned out really strange though and none of the characters had chemistry or were likable the characterizations were a complete mess. acting was mediocre too and the time skip and even the villain were all stupid too among a million plot holesWas this review helpful to you?

weird edgelord type story but still empty
the music was actually good for once lol normally I end up hating the music they use in this genre actually so this was a nice plus.. writing was weak though and the acting was mediocre, overall tone didn’t seem to fit either. it felt way too moody for what it was honestly, like the usual undeserved over muted netflix slop you can hardly see because it’s too visually darkWas this review helpful to you?
corny but still fun
fun enough watch in a very unserious way I guess. pretty cringy but if you don’t mind corniness you’ll survive. writing was very whatever but honestly this premise was more unique even if people may think sports settings are common in the genre, definitely more engaging in that area than other sports bl shows with all the same recycled plotsWas this review helpful to you?
light watch if you’re bored enough
plot holes and sloppy writing. acting was mediocre too but the worst part of it all for me was the overall production honestly. the way they arranged the scenes was just really irritating and turned me off the story honestly lol like I didn’t care anymore and the backstory was weak to begin with in my opinionWas this review helpful to you?
prequel was so much better
I guess since I read the source material this was disappointing in comparison. story felt either disorganized or boring throughout the show when it was very engaging in the webtoon unfortunately. the prequel that followed was not flimsy like this and the production value increased as well in my opinionWas this review helpful to you?
engaging premise light watch
I always get this mixed up with twinkling watermelon lol but it’s actually a fun watch. not the most memorable but the story is fine overall just a bit corny but of course there’s way worse in this genre. characters weren’t particularly likable or unlikable and acting was just okay but good enough for the story anywayWas this review helpful to you?
fun watch high quality production
nobody gave a rat’s ass about all the plot holes because the story was engaging lol I’d say that’s a good summary of it. the production value was actually quite good too I think that’s the positive element that stood out to me the most. writing was just okay but still better than most in the genre obviously. premise is similar to what we’ve seen from regular televised dramas so it could pass as such tooWas this review helpful to you?
