In the end, Changyu didn’t really care about his lies. Yes she was hurt and angry but she understood why he lied. That was real mature of her, I expected her to be angrier but like I said shows her maturity. What she’s upset about is the social norms that will keep them apart. He’s a Marquis she’s an ordinary woman, well she’s not but she doesn’t see herself as an extraordinary woman or knows her true origin yet. When she does know the real identity of her parents that’s when it’s going to be even harder for her, I fear. I don’t think Zheng will care about any of that until he finds out about the part his uncle played in her parents death.

Love how this episode was all about Xie Zheng. Good insight into his character. He’s firm about who he loves and doesn’t care what others think as long as does ill thoughts don’t harm Fan Changyu in any way. She gave him a real life, no wonder he doesn’t want to lose it. The sparring scene was a showcase of their chemistry. He’s also showing her more how to fight like a soldier. It was nice having these episodes just focus on them. It’s back to sharing with QM and YQQ tomorrow.

I've watched that last scene too many times. That I noticed ZLH has two different horses in that scene btw lol. The first one when he shows up is a softer brown and its mane is golden brown. The second one when he pulls her up is a darker brown has black on its face and brown and black in its mane and lighter colored eyes. I guess the director thought we'd be too lost in the scene and not notice the horse change. TBH I didn't at first. After rewatching a few times, I noticed the two different horses LOL.
