I feel you :D I just completed another fine historical drama recently. If you like Xu Kai, do check out Court Lady. Just don't take it seriously, but it's really funny and dark, and a great watch.

Yes, watching someone dying and can't do anything is the most painful experience. I feel like Jiang Xiao Ning too after she speaks to the heart doctor. That's a very touching scene when she breaks down.

It's just one of those insignificant characters that tries to take advantage of pretty girls. Don't worry. The ML and SML are good. Tropey and cliche but rather relaxing watch. You may love the ML's sour face. I love it XD

Not in a way we see in rom-com. It's more like a realistic way: people meet, people work together, people care about each other, naturally people stay together. No fireworks, no love at first sight etc.

This is not a rom-com. It's about life, so it doesn't have the type of romance like we see in rom-com dramas. It's very realistic, even with the little romance there is as that's how people normally fall in love and stay together. There's no fireworks, no love at first sight, no nasty second leads trying to 'steal' their man or woman. The drama is quite heavy but at the same time, very funny.
