Agree. Cheng Lei is such a good actor. When I watched the bts of him with Bai Lu, he's so playful, smiling and laughing all the time. But in the drama, he's so serious, and you can feel that he has a million things hiding in his heart.

Sure! I only watch c-dramas. What type do you like? The serious type, romance, witty, old, or new dramas? They are very different in production, aesthetic value, and storytelling.

Absolutely great review here. I've been contemplating watching Pursuit of Jade for weeks, but I somehow couldn't get past the ML. While everyone goes crazy over him, I'm holding back—he's too pretty to be real. After reading your review on Ashes to Crown, which helped me decide to drop the drama, I was thinking of starting Pursuit of Jade. And I read your wonderful review here. Thanks again. When I saw people swooning over the drama, I thought there was something wrong with me—why I didn't feel the excitement —until I came across your review. I'm resonating with it so much. 6 episodes in, I'm bored. Bored with the redness and the constant staring. why did chen yan yun wear that tall hat with a pearl chain hanging at the chin? was that a traditional hat during that era? was it only to be worn by the very high status? i've never seen this type of hat worn in other chinese costume or historical dramas. please enlighten me.

i've never watched ci sha's dramas. he's so amazing here. i love everything about this character, and his performance.
