I have a feeling that General Song takes bribes, not for himself, but for A'Wu because she has shared all her wealth with Xiao Qi and given to the soldiers and their families. This is going to be interesting.

Yeah, I was like boiling seeing her doing that, knowing very well that Helan Zhen has come to take her husband's life, and here she is trading with him for that bratty sister of hers. Wait till she finds out she's barren and this brat is seducing her husband.

Yep! She has moved on but he hasn't. Such men are the hardest to deal with :(

I know he's taking a high risk here - to prevent her from pregnancy for the moment until she gets better. Having flaws makes him realistic. He covers Song's misdeed (that makes him double standard), he sterilizes his own wife (making him not unlike those who poison others except he does it purportedly to save her), and yes, he gets jealous when his wife talks to her old lover.

I think her love for Zitan has shifted, from an innocent puppy love to the love of a fine friend. With Xiao Qi, he is her hero and her soul because they share very similar values - the nation.

It's indeed a very difficult decision for him to make. He has been pondering over it for sometime and decides he can't tell her her health condition, fearing knowing the truth may even sink her into deeper despair. I can understand his predicament. I just find it hard to accept he takes the liberty to sterilize her without telling her.

Yeah, not able to bear an heir for Xiao Qi, and so many other men coveting for her, and so many women want her dead. Oh boy! But no worries. I think her father will come to her rescue, just guessing. Haven't read the novel, so IDK :D

Wang Qian's mother begs and insists to move into Xiao's household to break her bad luck (having to marry to Helan Tuo). Helan Zhen schemes to murder Xiao Qi and Wang Xuan is Xiao Qi's Achilles' heels. His man asks him if she's also his Achilles' heels. The treasury is empty. To get money, they want to cut Xiao Qi's military. Xiao Qi asks when the war starts, who will bear the responsibility. Xiao Qi tells Song he wants to bring his soldiers back to Ning Shuo. Empress tells Xiao Qi she wants to send Wang Su (A'Wu's brother) and General Song to contain the flood in the south. She says the only way to kill the wolf king is to break away his other wolves (hence she takes Song). A'Wu meets with Helan Zhen to persuade him to choose a different girl. He wouldn't budge. His man tells Jing'er that they know she's a mole.

Dowager Empress tells Emperor her choice of 2 men to be sent to contain the flood. Doctor tells Empress to rest more because her baby feels weak. Emperor fears Dowager tries to strengthen her Wang clan again. She tells Emperor Xiao Qi is the danger and must get rid of. Xiao Qi tells Song that the Dowager wants him to leave to contain the flood with Wang Su. He'll marry Yu Xiu before leaving. Edict comes to award Yu Xiu her change of status and marriage to Song in 10 days. Wang Qian thinks they've come for her and is frightened. Xu Momo is worried Wang Su is being sent to the flood area. A'Wu tells her that her brother has the ambition in this project. Helan Zhen and 3rd Prince are scheming to kill Xiao Qi. 3rd Prince also wants to get back A'Wu and the throne.

When a woman loses her ability to bear children, she loses her confidence. Before she may not feel threatened, but when she knows she can't bear him a child, she will be, and it's going to be painful.

2. She's upset because she's been chosen to marry Helan Tuo. She doesn't want to leave the country to go to a new country. She begs A'Wu to talk to the Emperor out of it; A'Wu is not successful. The Empress schemes and tells her to move into A'Wu's household so that she can go seduce Xiao Qi. She's told that's the only way she can save herself.
