Your story sounds all too familiar. Yes, Qi Mingyue's mother is a typical Asian Tiger mom, and the children such mothers produce are usually top students going to ivy-league schools, musical prodigies, future doctors, engineers, lawyers, scientists etc. I guess what we should learn from our parents is not to treat our own children this way in future. I think, in a way, she does because she overhears the conversation in the library, but the conversation also doesn't confirm outright that he's involved. Over the years, he has been kind to her and has been a good ruler, so she doesn't hate or dislike him. Furthermore, she knows if she says anything, she would endanger Xiao Chengyu and Xiao Chengxuan. I have a feeling that she is using her current position, a situation that she can't walk away, to help pave way for Xiao Chengyu. Like Chengyu, she is silent, patient and laying very low.
