I find the FL so annoying but I can't stop watching. I don't understand her allure.
I imagine her this way: a 14 or 15 year old girl who hasn't seen much of the world, still very innocent, doesn't really understand people can be so evil to each other. She's only fixated in saving her family. Then I see that such a young girl tends to act this way; the FL is no exception.
My only qualm is, she's so air headed that she has fallen into the Prince umpteen times, more times than any other c-dramas. This is so cliche.
This drama’s logic seems to be: even if the FL doesn’t have half a brain, both the ML and 2nd ML love her because…
I can empathize with FL though she's brainless.
Her sister wants glory and power hence she uses FL's name and marries into royalty, but claims that she's saving FL from a marriage FL doesn't want. From FL's perspective, she knows switching identities as such is a crime that can have the Wen clan killed, and she wants to rescue her family and her sister. Therefore, she cannot reveal everything to the Prince - she's always in a dilemma, to tell or not to tell.
Her sister did try to escort FL back to their Wen's home, but without leaving together with the Consort, FL wouldn't go for the reason mentioned earlier - the whole family will be killed if the Royal family finds out that the Consort is an impostor.
Episode 15, she was serving next to his concubine when he came over. I don't understand why she didn't recognize him before he was seated behind the screen.
I'm on episode 18 and I'm quickly losing interest. I think it will go back once Allen Ren's character turns dark…
Yeah, I'm like you, losing interest. The logic is childish to say the least, and the plot is pretty shallow and predictable. Though the Na Ran Ye character is light and silly, he's pretty confusing at the same time. I can't say I dislike the character but I'm not in love with it either. Until now at episode 20, I still don't have any chemistry with the Rong Hua character. For me I think it's mostly because of Zhang Hui Wen; I just don't enjoy her acting, here in this drama and also in Nirvana in Fire 2.
Episode 18 and i enjoy it so far. The FL is so mature in the way of thinking and act, and their interaction is…
Yeah, this drama has a lot of logic that I have not fully comprehended yet. Don't know if it's because I'm slow or because there are indeed some plot holes here.
Which one do you recommend more? Love in between or love a lifetime?
I prefer Love In Between. Love a Lifetime is more light-hearted, with a silly boyish Ren Jialun (which is fun to watch). Fighting scenes are good for both, but more fighting for Love in Between which is also very nail-bitingly intense especially for the first few episodes.
I've been watching Love In Between and have totally forgotten what is going on in this drama. Now I have to re-watch some of the episodes to refresh my memory. Too many dramas to watch!
He has only 6 months to live. Now we have to wait until next Monday.
Don't be. There's still hope. There are still 13 more episodes to go. There'll be a miracle. He's back to where he was 10 years ago, hopeless. FL's love will revive him and help him fight.
Zhou Ting Wei's character is probably the most mysterious of all the characters that gets significant screen time.…
I feel there are 2 sides to the coin as far as the age of the actors are concerned. China is mass producing actors (like everything else) every year. If these young actors are not used in the film industry, what are they going to do? If they only use the few older actors continually, these actors may demand hefty compensation, inflating the budgets for the production. Like any professions in China, older people are made to retire early to make room for the younger generation. I think the film industry is no exception.
Yeah, you're right about using the mature actors in roles beyond the adolescent dramas. I really hate it when they use a 20 something actor for a grandparent role. They use the same age kids as parent and child. They are so hard to watch.

If you think FL is annoying, please watch pass the first 2 episodes, she's not annoying. I love her character - mature and thoughtful.
