This is all to make others jealous.

Furthermore, CSS looks around her and makes sure everyone is looking at her, before she does all this public display of affection. Then after she kisses LBY, she leaves the banquet because she knows someone would come after her, and this time she's ready (hence the 5th prince in water). So in other words, all the actions she does, are basically trying to stir up more jealousy and hatred, so that she can take her revenge. She hasn't done it (the affection) because she loves LBY so much. She has been scheming this all along, even on the Empress's birthday.

LBY listens to everything she says as depicted in:
1) the emperor says even he can't make LBY play the "qin" for him
2) the crown prince says only CSS can get LBY to play the "qin" again.

Until today, CSS still thinks LBY the one betrays her in the collapse bridge incident. Has she ever found out that LBY in fact was the one helping her in luring those high sex hormone loaded girls to the bridge?

Yes, I liked the FL character too because she's quite funny. But Cecelia Liu's facial expression was lacking and incomprehensive of the situations, so I don't quite like her.

CSS has a low self-esteem, understandably so. Whenever she hears, "I do this for your own good", she hears, "You are not good enough, so I need to make you better." So in a way, she feels when LBY says this to her, he is like her mom.

For me, I liked The Sound of Desert was because of Eddie Peng and his character. Hu Ge's character was a pain to watch. Not a fan of Cecelia Liu :)

Her public display of affection for LBY is done for a purpose:
1) she's claiming her man to tell the others to back off
2) she's showing the power she has behind her so no one should mess with her
3) LBY listens to everything she says
