Her name being Eve and this being about fertility experiments makes me wonder if it's headed for some biblical…
There's absolutely no doubt about the symbolism, the post-credit scene in episode 1 had a little girl offer an apple to Gong Ryeong like the apple of temptation in the Garden of Eden
If you're not aware, there is a very strong and influential right-wing Christian movement in Korea so it wouldn't surprise me at all if all of this is very deliberate messaging to increase the birth rate since Korea has fallen below replacement levels.
One of the main things that some people were not in favor of at the beginning was the fact that both Ryong and…
I never cared about possible cheating but I do care about good writing and the writing for their relationship or whatever you want to call it has been terrible . We don't have a clear idea why he'd ditch his fiancee for her after three days and her character went from threatening him with a gun to reacting like a kitten when he barged into her room and wouldn't leave.
Do NONE of these men know the meaning of consent? No means NOOOOOO! You don't hit on your commanding officer.…
The gender thing was so fucking dumb and yet I forgot to mention it in my comment because I was too pissed off at the misogyny. I'll just read your comments going forward and spare myself.
The woman who literally pulled a pistol on Gong Ryong over ice cream is allowing him to barge into her room, hit…
Omg yes to that creepy monologue by GR about how many vaginas he's looked at in his career so that women don't look like women to him anymore, was that supposed to be charming? π€’ And I agree Eve looks scared of Kangsu. Unfortunately Gong Hyo Jin specializes in characters who are timid and weak under a tough exterior.
Wtf is that opening scene of Ep 5. Spoilered rant in thread. ETA: There's very few comments here, seems like people…
The woman who literally pulled a pistol on Gong Ryong over ice cream is allowing him to barge into her room, hit on her and to be insubordinate without kicking him in the balls and locking him in his room for the rest of the mission?
Between When the Stars Gossip, Mr. Plankton and When the Phone Rings, Netflix is really going all in on the no boundary left untrampled male leads of the 2010s.
The lack of respect for the women in this drama is atrocious. First, GR gets a big backstory while five episodes in we know next to nothing about Eve. Santi has porno magazines kept out in the open in a work and living space he shares with women. Eve's boyfriend got touchy-feely flirty with Eve and his female commander on their mission together. The fiance and her SIL are treated like chattel by the father and it's played for laughs. He even cracks a joke about her not giving consent for her eggs to be fertilized by Kang Kang Su. I was planning to finish this out of morbid curiosity but this episode turned me off so much that I'm officially done.
