I haven't finished this drama yet but it deserves a much higher rating. the women are interestingly complex and the actors are all strong. I like the journey that the male lead is taking and how his view of the women around him changes. ETA: completed, really enjoyed it, still think this deserves a much higher rating. I think the ambiguous ending probably had a lot to do with why this drama isn't more popular but I thought it was appropriate for the story.
What's wrong with a remake? You are just a narrow-minded person. Your opinions here just show how ignorant and…
The Thai version of Hana Yori Dango is the best. Really, truly. They took the story, localized it to Thailand and turned it into a critique of toxic capitalism and violence. If you haven't seen it you should.
GMMTV's handling of the whole international rights mess is really baffling considering that 1) they've got lawyers…
They used the same third party broker to handle the rights as they did for F4 Thailand so they had no reason to think that the company would screw up the deal. There's going to be plenty of lawsuits coming out of this.
It's cute and pleasant, but it's supposed to be a comedy and for some reason, Thai productions of Japanese comedies…
"since homophobia, external or internal, plays no part in the story, there's no reason for Achi to resist Karan, and so he just... does. for no apparent reason. Low self-esteem is the only angle that has any traction, but they downplay that too. As a result, the story just... happens rather than being driven by anything."
💯 agree with this. Also, between the writing and performance the character comes across as jealous and resentful, not insecure and vulnerable, which isn't appealing.
I can roughly guess why it’s being banned internationally now. There are major changes from this adaptation…
This is purely a guess but I think it might have something to do with the anime version that is being produced by a Japanese company and that is going to air January 2024. I wonder if Studio Enix sold the rights to the Japanese company first and then sold them again to GMMTV and it didn't get discovered until after it started airing and the Japanese company complained
Please do not give my girl any romance. She’s my fave
Pretty sure she's getting a romance with Rock but I like that they made a point of having her character be okay with being single even when her ex was being an asshole.
This was my favorite episode yet, really love Karan being kind and supportive, love Pai standing up for herself, love Rock being an adorable puppy. The second couple is starting to win me over. But unfortunately I still can't connect with New's portrayal of Achi. His jealousy comes across as petty and selfish and he's not bringing enough charm to the part to overcome it for me. I'm still enjoying this a lot but ironically I'm not that invested in them getting together at this point.
I did and it was wonderful. It's college age characters but the plot was substantial and they acted their asses off. I don't expect them to do heavy shows all the time but we know what they're capable of in the right project.
It's cute seeing Off as the one with a crush first but OffGun should graduate to more mature stories. You could still have a light-hearted romcom set in an office. Off appeared in full adult roles in The Jungle and Midnight Motel and GMMTV has produced adult romcoms like Cherry Magic and Faceless Love so I can't understand why OffGun are willing to do student roles when they are over 30.
Rip the show is now geoblocked in Japan I guess Rakuten Viki (go-to BL streaming platform in Japan) got the rightsIt's…
Wow thank you for that link, it says so much about how IP works that the original creator didn't know that access was going to be yanked. But maybe the drama will now be available on a legit side in the US. I had to download the whole series from Irozuku Subs
So my issues with New's acting start now 🤡He just does not have enough skill to show the vulnerability behind…
There's problems with New's performance but I think the bigger issue is the writing. I don't know who Achi is supposed to be at this point in the story. He says "Karan having feelings for me is not a bad thing at all," he's enjoying the attention and everyone around them is urging them to date. So why not get together? The supposed guilt he feels over using Karan is super contrived. One time helping him at work and one sleepover equals using? It doesn't make sense. This is a problem with the writing independent of any comparisons with the Japanese version.
As the watcher of the JP ver, I check this one, and it's not bad as I think. I enjoyed it. It's cute, make me…
Yes I agree and another problem is that Achi is so open to Karan's feelings right away so there's no conflict. If Achi is already thinking "Karan having feelings for me is not a bad thing at all" during the breakfast scene and letting Karan wipe his lips with his thumb, then what's the problem? What's stopping him from dating him, especially when his boss and colleague are basically encouraging him to go for it.
