Because MDL only goes off popular ratings, and this was a popular drama. That doesn't mean the rating is realistic…
That's exactly what I thought this drama was and hence why it I rated it a 3.
Acting, plot, etc is also entirely subjective to the viewer. Someone might have thought the acting was amazing whilst others didn't. Some might have thought the plot was great but for others it was poor.
I also agree about not rating dramas low *just because it wasn't my cup of tea. * there are loads of dramas that fit in this range and which I rated around the 6 range. I just didn't think this was one of those dramas. Again, entirely subjective. You might rate another drama really low for being a disaster, whilst I rate it higher.
Even if he was, why is it a problem? Watch the drama if you like it, don't if that thing is not for you. A lot…
Yes no viewers would watch dramas where the leads cheat, and definitely not where the ML cheats. But still, a lot of the other red flag elements are generally allowed. Viewers generally don't mind force kissing, or fictional ML being jealous and possessive, etc. Much the way it is in dark romance. Xie Wei was this way too and considered one of the best red flags ever.
I have heard about Xie Zheng's personality traits being removed as they were from the novel. I think they made it more female centric which is why Changyu's character has more to her, more personality traits and more complexity compared to him.
I managed to get past the nitty-gritty of first few eps, the crying kids, and now, I have to get through his annoying…
Ha you're much more patient than me. I gave up after Ep 10. It probably made a difference that I didn't even care for the main leads whereas you do. But yes the crying kids and annoying sister on top of that! Made it hard to carry on. Rarely does a drama put me off within the first 10 eps 😂🙈
Second time watching…At First I gave 9,5 but now I give it a 8. I still think it’s a great drama, but a fell…
I've watched till Ep 24 currently and I'm disliking how blind the ML is. He's also unnecessarily petty towards FL and she has to treat him like a child just to appease him. Essentially he is a big manchild.
I like a lot of the other couples better, for example Xiaotao and Wei Liang, and Bhi Zhi with the cousin (forgot her name?) because they actually seem to love each other and behave maturely.
Honestly I think one of the biggest problems is that this is way more straight forward gay than the untamed. It…
But then why make the drama in the first place? The novel is right there to pick up and very explicit with how much intimacy or smut they have. It's just unbelievable that they FINISHED filming this drama's 58 episodes, and only THEN didn't pass the damn censorship.
I also skip ep 1 & 2 when i rewatch but still its a 10/10 for mee
Yeah and lots of scenes where Lusi is being cute 🤣😍 . I loved it first or second time watching, but the more I try to rewatch the more I'm over those scenes. I just go straight for the main story from Ep 7 lol.

Yeah I get why so many rate it 10/10. I just rate it a bit lower now (but still decent) because I don't prefer the early part of the drama as much. IMO the drama really kicks in around Ep 7 when she has her heartbreak. I rewatch from there because I also like the track when she's in Uni better.
surprised by such high rating when most people in the comments hate on it...
Criticising it doesn't mean it can't be rated highly. I rated it a 9 because the whole drama is quite good barring the last episode. It can be rated highly whilst still spotting the problems.
It depends. I really liked it and rated it 9. It's almost perfect which is why the ending was so disappointing. But the rest of the drama is really good and quite comforting.
Towards the end this felt like a chore to get through at 2x speed. ML constant narcissism never got better, i…
ML's narcissism was okay when it was portrayed as a parody at first, but to me it's like he stayed like that. Even in more serious moments I didn't like him. I also agree about FL's ending. So disappointing that she basically stayed in the secretary job for HIM, when she wanted to quit for so long. It felt very regressive to me. Another drama, Business Proposal is a lot like this but I love that drama much more. The ML doesn't stay in that narcissistic comedic character, and FL was more independent even when she was younger than the FL here.
I guess we shouldn’t take entertainment things seriously. If ppl involved doesn’t care then we r no one to…
The audacity to also briefly congratulate yourself for not causing "drama" on MOGA's page whilst you strongly defend underage teenagers acting with grown adults is just so bizzare here lol 🙈. Your priority should be the other way round. Anyone is allowed to go anywhere on a PUBLIC forum BTW.

It's bearable when minors 14-18 are in romantic relationships with others their own age. A 17 year old girl should act with a 17 year old boy, neither with adults 10 years older than them. There are other roles she could have been in (those high school Cdramas for example) yet she has been pushed into dramas with more mature roles since she was 16. You seem to think there isn't much difference between a 17 year old and an 18 year old - then how far do you want to take it? You could go even younger if you wanted with 16, 15, etc. Some teenagers being mentally more able than an 18 year old doesn't count. The law is there to protect people including minors. You also bring in an 18 year old doing "illegal/immoral stuff" but you miss the point entirely.... At that stage they are to take *responsibility* if they do anything wrong. An under 18 year old doesn't because the law treats them like a minor.
I had already watched Perfect Match (thanks for the reminder bc I hadn't updated my lists for ages) and I don't think HYTT's role when she was so young was fully okay either. This seems to be a bad habit from the industry to push minors (esp girls) into more mature roles with far older actors when there are other roles suitable for them. Even western industries avoids this now when it was once very common a few decades ago.
The script has already been leaked. It is completely different to the novel. The ml is NOT toxic. He is very likeable.…

A lot of dramas have toned down ML's compared to the novel, so not surprising. If they followed how a lot of these ML's are in the novel it probably wouldn't have rated as highly.
That saying I do love when ZLH plays toxic or red flagged. His role in Story of Kunning Palace was stellar.
Shin Hye Sun definitely carried this drama and she is the best part, because the story was pretty mid and had plot holes. I definitely loved that it still left you with the question at the end though - Who is Sarah Kim? All we see are these fake personas
Solid 8/10 drama. It's not comparable to The Glory, but it was still decent. There were enough twists and turns to keep me invested despite the slow start. Jeon Do Yeon and Kim Go Eun were also amazing. Glad it was only 12 episodes too.

also The Double.
