Interesting! I really thought it's a common whenever you get a driving license. I looked into it for Thailand and it says that a medical certificate is required, usually for mental health issues, stuff like that, but it doesn't specify if it includes a first aid course.

Where I live in Europe, without a first aid course, you cannot get a license. They teach you how to apply a tourniquet for broken bones, how to do a heart massage, stuff like that. And I remember my instructor/doctor cut half of the group off the first time for being lousy.
