Yea i just think the drama has ups and downs, for me at least, I can’t seem to enjoy the entirety of the episode every episode yk ? There are parts where i wanna doze off from boredom, it’ll get better during their uni times and afterwards i think , we’ll see
I’ve watched countless dramas and rewatched this one over 10 times and i catch myself smiling throughout the entirety of it every time, i know it’s popular af and even overrated for some but i’m convinced it’s the best modern cdrama to exist at least for me, bc of how it never gets old or boring and how healing it is. It doesn’t have to be realistic bc it’s fiction and dramas are an escape from reality, the awkwardness in the beginning of the relationship and the chemistry afterwards etc it all felt natural and normally u’d think it’d be weird since he knew her since she was a kid but they managed to not make it pervy thank god. Anyway i love this couple and it’s my comfort drama it’s not unnecessarily long or too short, the right length for you to watch and rewatch and get attacged to all the characters

I feel so bad for Ye Xian, bro’s been sick his whole life, and lonely, his house and father’s title was almost seized so he had to become the king’s sword, his dad kinda hated him, then died the same day the only girl who understood him got married (she made the right choice to be her husband) but damn i still wanted to see Ye Xian to happy in some other way

Praying to god zhao jinmai isn’t in this bc she can’t act to save her life, i watch her dramas with an open heart hoping she’ll change my mind but every time it’s like i’m seeing the ml trying to have chemistry with a brick wall. In our generation instead of the “attempted spontaneous fl” her character came out blatantly rude, selfish and childish. In shine on me and amidst a snowstorm.. etc she might’ve as well been a robot bc not a single emotion was being shown, if anything she seems extremely uncomfortable with every ml like dodging a harasser Hope she takes acting classes or improve.. anywhere other than on my screen
from the storyline mess, the color palette, bgm, and actors on rotation i figured who the screenwriter/director was, but if you skip through some scenes it was enjoyable, loooooveeed the chemistry and the martial arts, since they’re always so well choreographed in all his dramas, although mjty remains his best work, i will say this is better than fangs of fortune. Ju jingyi is absolutely mesmerising in this you’d think she’s a real fox and the ml is so yandere i was obsessed with his love story (the matching fits in ep 9 AAAAAA <3) Ps: do yourself a favor and pretend ep 26 is the last ep bc everything after is confusing and a mess, too many subplots and too much happening
The only flaw is the second lead couple “the secretaries”, 100% unnecessary and tbh sometimes unfunny, absolutely 0 chemistry too, it would’ve been better if they made them friendly rivals. Other than that the romcom did not disappoint veryy enjoyable watch
