I think I should stop watching asian dramas now. The way elders/parents doing bad to their kids throughout their life gets justified/solved with just a apology is just plain bad to see. They only teach us that even if your parents/grandparents abuse and curse your for your whole life, it's fine because they have birth to you and raised you.

You justified Flourished Peony by saying the romance was 'respectful and organic,' yet you’ve already dismissed this drama’s execution without even seeing how it unfolds.

Also, if the concern is purely about ethical and emotional issues, why does it only seem to come up when it's the ML with a past? When FLs have similar backstories, it's framed as mature and nuanced, but when it’s an ML, suddenly it’s ‘problematic’? That’s exactly why I pointed out the double standard. Instead of making assumptions this early, why not wait and see how the drama actually handles it?
