No, There is no love triangle and breakup in the novel

being smart and already the girlfriend of the ML at that time, traps him in a situation where the ML, the director's wife, and some other influential people from the bank see that he is trying to sexually assault her.

There is no breakup, and they get together very early, around chapter 35 or so in the novel, which is within the first third of the story.

I’ve read the novel, and no, the ML is not in love with the FL for the entire 10 years of their friendship. He cares about her, but only as a friend. He only starts seeing her as a woman when she begins going on blind dates. In the novel, there’s no love triangle. Although the ML does get jealous of Zhou Mo at times, he never seriously pursues anyone else. Some of the ML's mom's wealthy friends try to set him up with their daughters, like Shen Ni Na, but it only happens briefly. So, there’s no real love triangle or breakup, but I’m not sure how they’ll portray it in the drama.

He becomes more like that late in the drama if it goes like novel.

I don't think you're aware of her agency's situation yet, as they tend to handle their actresses this way. They're doing something similar with Wan Peng as well. She might be making these guest appearances due to her friendships, but not securing roles in historical dramas— which are a guaranteed path to popularity in China— seems quite suspicious to me. Even the number of her upcoming dramas isn't that impressive, considering how talented and beautiful she is, especially when compared to her contemporaries who have several promising dramas awaiting release.

Her agency isn't doing a good job of securing her significant roles, which is why she has to resort to guest appearances. She should take on more historical dramas, as that's a surefire way to gain popularity in China but I think she isn't getting those roles or either her agency is letting those roles go.

So, he hasn’t loved her for 10 years. Instead, they both cared about each other, but never labeled it as love, only thinking of it as caring for a friend.

You don't have to worry; the relationship here is healthy, unlike in The Princess Royal. The novel doesn't even have a love triangle and mainly focuses on the leads.

If I remember correctly then ML married someone else and doesn't have a good marriage.
