Daeho, The land of Ancient Mages
On The Princess Royal Jun 27, 2024
Why did the writers make SRQ more annoying than in the novel? And why don't we have an SFL like SRQ for the ML? In the novel, only the ML was feeling jealous seeing the FL's affections for SRQ, while the ML had no one pining after him. It should be balanced after all.

Title Doona!
Did this drama change writers after episode 6? It certainly seems that way. The characters are acting very differently compared to the first 6 episodes. For instance, Doona was sensible up until episode 6, but her character takes a nosedive afterward, becoming manipulative and gaslighting Won Jun into apologizing without ever apologizing herself, even when she's at fault. I thought this drama would be my comfort zone, but I ended up fast forwarding the last 3 episodes after the manager arrived due to Doona's unreasonable decisions that hurt Won Jun, yet she still demanded he apologize.

I think there is a bigger conspiracy at a play here and Su Rongqing has killed them both in order to preserve…
SRQ is a gray character in the novel. The extermination of his clan was the main source of his motivation for his actions in his previous life. As the only surviving member of the Su Clan and being castrated, he couldn't have children. The only other person with Su Clan blood in the kingdom was Li Xin, the heir of Emperor Li Chuan (the FL's brother), because the Empress had an affair with SRQ's brother. He genuinely loved the FL in his previous lifetime, but because he wanted to see his clan's bloodline survive, he had to kill her.

Title Doona!
I saw people raving about how Jin Joo was a better partner for Won Jun than Doona. I think people forgot that she didn't even have the sense to reject Won Jun when he confessed to her, if she didn't like him. She even pretended not to know anything when they met after one year, acting as if she hadn't heard his confession. So, I don't think she deserves him because she made fake excuses to avoid him after his confession.

I feel like this drama could have been a lot better if they had cast a younger male lead instead of Yang Se Jong, as he really does not look like a college student at all here.

Yes, you are correct that she loved SML in her previous life, and in this current life, she will love both of them in their own ways, just like in SOKP.

must be the director then
Both of the director's previous dramas had good kissing scenes, so I don't think it's their problem. But who knows, maybe something did go wrong in the direction department, as the kisses were terrible.

I think it will be much better than QOT. At least we won't get a one-dimensional villains or cookie- cutter good…
What you said is right regarding the FL of TPR because she had the weight of her whole family and the kingdom of Great Xia, but it doesn't hold true for the FL of QOT. Her family didn't face a threat when their marital problems started. Whatever you say about that, it began when Hae In cleared her unborn baby's room without her husband's consent, for which she never apologized to him until the end of the drama. I don't expect FLs to sacrifice their whole life and be just housewives, but we should be shown some efforts from them, right? The QOT definitely showed regrets, apologies, and efforts from Hyun Woo's point of view, but they made us sympathize with Hae In just because she had a miscarriage and illness, without much effort from her to save their marriage. Instead, she was haughty when she learned about the divorce, where she could have listened to his reasons. Even in this drama, I don't expect her to start loving and trusting the ML, but at least she shouldn't let her affections for SRQ in her previous life influence her decisions, especially when she knows that SRQ had a hand in her death. She shouldn't make the ML jealous, which was the norm in both dramas, by the way.

It's also like that in the novel this drama is based on. While the leads loved each other at the start of their marriage in their previous life, they became distant. While the ML always loved her, the FL thought he loved someone else named Qin Zhen Zhen, so she started loving Su Rong Qing. Even in their current life, even after knowing SRQ killed her, she still had a lot of affection for him, while the ML had to bask in jealousy. For the ML in their current life, the FL is above everyone else, and he mostly supports her. However, for the FL, it's clearly not the same, and she gets manipulated by SRQ due to their past affection. So, I can say even in this drama ML will sacrifice anything for FL while FL clearly thinks about her choices.

the mastermind behind her death is not su rongqing there is a twist behind it and i will not say SRQ a big villain…
Yeah, as I said, after the death of his beloved concubine, he became delusional and started slowly poisoning LR. Just before his death, he thought that his demise would cause the empire to become unstable, as he believed his sister was after the throne, so he gave orders to SRQ to kill her.

Don't worry he will be a good guy in this timeline if the makers follow the novel.

I just don't get it. Pyo Ye Jin is a good kisser, as seen in this drama. Kim Young Dae is also an actor who has done good kissing scenes in his previous dramas. So what went wrong that we have those dead fish kisses in "Moon in the Day"? They were some of the most horrible kissing scenes in a drama where the leads have chemistry but don't perform good kissing scenes.
