That's interesting, maybe I should watch this drama.Yeah I agree the plot was badly handled, I still find nice…
Exactly, like we're not here to hate and pretend it's not a fun show to watch, but a 9.2? It's just misleading for everyone who will want to watch later on. I was myself dragged to watch it because of the ratings haha! I'll meet you at a 7.5 ratings! I don't like it when multiple plots are resolved in the last episode, usually it's not done well :/
And yeah, you should definetly watch The King of Pigs, an excellent but sadly not well known drama from 2022, if you like anti-heros like in Mouse or Extracurricular, you might like this one :)
You'd think the show is about how WYW evolves in the working and romantic world, how she adresses her issues, how she grows, considering her autism and all... The way they could have write her evolution sooo much better and instead decided to give us no-thing.
I was never sold on the romantic relationship she had with Junho anyway, dude fell in love with her out of nowhere but well. But they dragged the storyline with her romantic relationship with Junho which led people to believe there was something to expect. I was lead to believe she would grow in that relationship since it's her first one and she struggles with social interactions but the whole relationship was sooooo empty (except for whale talk of course)! She aknowledges the making him lonely part way too late! It's something that should have been adressed earlier so that they can try to make this work. Her conclusion was "I make people lonely, let's not be together", really ? What's the point of introducing him as love interest if she doesn't learn anything from her relationship with him? Because the lonely part thing she knew that already, she said so herself, so nothing changed, she didn't grow, didn't learn anything. So all of it was imo for nothing and the romantic plot was just useless. I think it's realistic that she realises that her autism can make people around her lonely but they could have made a better storyline surrounding that fact. If they wanted to focus so much on the law side, 16 episodes is just too much. They could have done that better with less episodes and no romantic relationship.
As for the side characters, I don’t know why they made Min woo a bad guy to just decide at the very end that "meh, nah, he's fine". They really gave him a 2 episodes redemption arc lmaoo, please, what for ? The two sidekick of the main lead, well, nothing new but that’s just what they are. They didn’t even try to give them a proper job lol, they are literally there to serve the sidekick scenes they need them for. Beard man has a bar with no customers and the best friend is a part time employee of this empty bar, no depth to these character lol, just there to make people laugh… Ok.
Even the law part. Are they even specialised? Because they handled civil cases and criminal cases and corporate cases... even their solving of the cases is often bad and attributed to luck.
I'm sorry but this show is not well written at all, what's up with the 9.2 ?? Anyway, I was happy to see The King of Pigs (go watch it!) Kim Chul's actor at the end of the last episode, this kid is very talented!
I haven't watched the "controversial" eps 13 and 14 yet, but am I the only one who finds most cases to be incredible…
Some are good but the legal approach of them is soooooo bad ! How do you solve the case with th most basic reason that "ouh, I didn't think of" ? Some of those reasons are the first thing a lawyer should look into... Lawyer also specialise, there is no speciality in the team, they just take whatever case, it's stupid. I also think it's waaay overrated.

not necessarily, you can recommend smthg for the feelings they both procure you, or for the storytelling that can be similar without the story itself being close whatsoever etc... but if you're looking for similarities, both ML are anti-heroes
It could have a been a cute 8 episode mini serie about the challenges of being autistic when being an attorney, especially considering how ablesit SK is but nope, the second they introduced romance it looks like it was doomed to follow the cliché path every rom kdrama follow. It's not that we think the challenges of an autistic person in a romantic relationship is cliché, it's just that it could have been brought in a different way than the overused "your family don't like me, we can't be together" kind of way. Considering how WYW listens to her BFF to the letter, maybe it could have been something she said but WYW didn't interpret properly and ended up doing the opposite or something. Like a reason that's linked to her being autistic and her understanding of the world maybe ? More than just the world being yet again like "you don't deserve this blablabla". Or him asking her to make some effort (like, dude never talks about himself and she never asks) because that's how a relationship works but of course she wouldn't know . Again, it's not that disaproving families don't happen when faced with a person with a handicap, it's just that the "my family disaprove, oh we should break up" trope is just soo overused. Difficulties in a relationship can happen in so many different ways...
You know what, maybe I'm being too political about this, maybe her being autistic shouldn't be reason to treat this rom kdrama differently than any other rom kdrama. Then maybe I wouldn't be disapointed in the vilain redemption arc because "oh, a girl." and the cliché touch of sadness with one of the character being ill. I mean, we do have a ML that's first degree not ever tired of dolphin talk, it was a sign lol.
Apparently, Korean men are appalled by the 'blatant feminism' in ep 12 and claim that the the show 'demonises…
Who is surprised? Korean men are sooooo misogynistic. One of the problem I have with this drama is how unrealistic the ML is, compared to how korean men actually are. The ableism is crazy in SK, coupled with misogyny.... ML comes straight out of a fantasy book.
A casting director that casts him as ML only cares about his pretty face and not his acting. It's very much an indication that the drama will be bad. He's really not good, no hate at all, he really just isn't.

there is not even enough content to make a second season
