Pursuit of Jade was way better than Prisoner of Beauty. The male lead in PoB was such a watered down version of what he was supposed to be to where he ended up just being a boring dick. WM's comment is spot on as well.

Ok so i did enjoy this very much. Changyu is one of my favorite female leads, Tian Xiwei was absolutely perfect. BUT this drama needed minimum 10 more episodes to flesh shit out. The pacing in the beginning was perfect, it had the potential to be a 9+ score for me. Then they rushed the ending and made a lot of dumb decisions with the writing and pacing. Episode 38 was a killer episode but other than that one, the other episodes between like 30-40 were so much worse than the rest of the drama. I might let my bias get in the way and still rate it an 8 but it realistically probably deserves a 7.

Never said you were justifying weird behavior, i said YOU are a weirdo for justifying PREDATORY behavior. BUT it is fucking weird for a 30 year something year old man to have a relationship with a 19 year old. Period. But it's ESPECIALLY fucking weird when that 30 something year old man has known that 19 year old since she was a literal child and then immediately starts dating when it's legal. And that's only if the situation actually is legal, there's no way of actually knowing what happened when the alleged victim is fucking dead. This is all so unbelievably gross. On ep 30 now and while im still enjoying it, the quality has been dipping. Kind of a bummer. Still good, but I'm not obsessed like I was in the beginning.

Finally some sense. So many losers in these comments I stg. He was so creepy towards Kim Yoojung back when she was a child and he was grown. Even IF (big if) he never did anything technically illegal, he's still a major creep and that should bother anyone with a working moral compass

10 episodes in and I am SHOCKED that I'm loving this. Every super popular drama these past couple of years has been painfully disappointing. But so far I am definitely understanding the hype. It's really good. Too early to call it a masterpiece but I am so happy to finally be enjoying a romantic costume drama again. I haven't really loved one since Lost You Forever.

Same! I didn't care for him at all in love between fairy and devil, kunning palace, or princess royal. But he's really mesmerizing here. I think it's a combo of him suiting the character and amazing chemistry with Tian Xiwei.

Honestly yeah, i remember him dogging on her so bad in the meteor garden days. But she was always so chill about it and took all of the jokes he and the other boys made in stride.
