To anyone who has watched this or is considering it, read. the. books....they're easy to find translated online. This series is really just an appetizer and covers only a portion of book one. The full story ends when the boys are about 30 if I remember correctly. I watched the series first, then read the books to find out what happens next. Let's just say that BLY's girlfriend goes away and she has PTSD. The characters as portrayed by Timmy and Johnny are perfect. You can literally see them in the books. The whole time I was reading, I kept thinking to myself that there's no way on earth the books could be produced as a television series as written. The sex is very graphic (and hot!) and their adventures would require the budget of a super hero blockbuster, the things they do are just so outlandish. This is the first BL series I watched so it will always be special to me, even though it ends with no resolution. And yes, Guhai is that possessive......no-even more-in the books.
I hope all of my fellow MDL-ers don't hate me for saying this, but this was a big meh for me. I didn't really sense any chemistry/sparks between Kijima and Kuzumi, Kijima was indifferent at best throughout the whole thing. The only sexual activity that was shown was M/F, all M/M other than kissing was implied which I found ironic for a gay series. I'm going to watch Mood Indigo to try and gain some insight into Kijima's behavior, but after watching this my expectations are pretty low. OK I just completed the whole series and three movies, so I felt compelled to edit my comments. Mood Indigo adds so much color (ha ha) to Kijima and his relationship with Kido. Playback was just incredible, it provides what we were longing for with ALL of the chemistry. Both of the short films add additional details that flesh out the story nicely. Now that I've seen the whole thing I'm completely satisfied with this series. š„°
OK first of all, what was that play? Gangsters? Grooms? A fairy tale? A hot mess? And then, as others have said, the gravestone. I actually paused the TV and laughed at it for a good five minutes. Styrofoam? A kindergarten art project? I was dying. Lastly, Wayu was basically a zombie all season just staring into space and not saying anything. Bas is a good actor, so strange. For me it was all about MarKit, they saved the show.
I actually liked this one a lot. It was beautifully shot, and as others have commented, the plot was uncomplicated and straightforward. The ending was fantastic, I'd love a season two to see how Heon and Geum fare in the modern world. I'm on to Gen Y season two now, wish me luck.
Hi! I can not find the video of the special only. Only the trailer appears. Can you please dm the direct link…
Thank you so much for posting these. I watched them, itās the future, correct? It looks like they end up together⦠could you please give a brief synopsis? Than you! šš
WELL, I came to the comments to see if anyone knew the answers to my questions, but you all have the same ones I do. It was okay up until the last two episodes, then it's a big mystery. Ki Jin's actions are never explained...and was his "launch" with Yeong Woo as the model something different from his scheduled trip to New York? IDK....
Like everyone else, I loved it. I do have two questions...if you've watched the movie will you please see my spoiler…
Were we ever told why Gav is at Aunt Myra's house? Obviously it was necessary for the plot, but at the end of season one he was still in his apartment. That leads me to question two: Wesley. Was it ever explained why he just appeared? Did I miss something? Since he's Cairo's friend, how would he know about Aunt Myra's house or where it was? Would you buy an airline ticket and fly to someone's house and just show up? That was stupid. Thanks for any insight.
Like everyone else, I loved it. I do have two questions...if you've watched the movie will you please see my spoiler below? Any responses would be great, thanks.
I liked it, it was sweet, but boy did it drag. What was the deal with introducing a new conflict in the second to last episode with those morons getting married....who cares? They could have used that time to give us a proper ending to Nai Hui and You Fou's story. Instead we're treated to a tacky red satin bed that looks like it's from a Poconos resort in 1975 and a wedding portrait. I felt that they deserved more. Last thing, Mark and Ou Wen deserve their own show, perfect chemistry!
Episode 5....oh episode 5! For me this was another cute BL series until that episode. Pat's realization and how he got there was just magical. Ohm has grown SO much as an actor, all of Pat's internal dialog was expressed on his face beautifully. This was probably my favorite episode of any BL series.
Hi there, episode 4 (Boun/Prem) does have a happy ending....you have to wait until the credits role, there's one last scene that tells the ending to the story. :-)
