That's quite a claim. South Korea certainly has corruption problems, but it's also one of the few countries where…
You're literally bending over backwards to defend a man who has shown a pattern of predatory behaviour for years, and it's exhausting to watch people like you justify this shit with your "wait for the evidence" garbage when the evidence is literally staring you in the face.

You want to talk about cases where there's sufficient evidence? Fine, let's talk about Kim Soohyun's old interviews and behaviour that have been documented for YEARS. And you know what keeps resurfacing? The fact that he told child actress Kim Yoojung---who was THIRTEEN at the time btw--that he couldn't wait for her to grow up so she could play his romantic partner, and that after seeing her in person he no longer saw her as a child. He literally said he was looking forward to meeting her as a "partner in a show" when she was 13 and he was 24, and somehow you think that's just a normal comment? He was touching her uncomfortably on set and making these weird comments about watching her grow up, and you want to pretend that's just innocent industry talk? Disgusting.

Then there's the Sulli situation with that disgusting softcore porn scene in Real. Even if his agency tries to claim she was "fully aware" and there was a contract, the fact remains that Sulli was a heavily exploited young woman who was already struggling, and he starred in a film where she was pressured into doing explicit scenes that destroyed her reputation, while he faced zero consequences for being part of that mess and continued to get praised. And don't even try to claim he "had no involvement beyond acting" because his own cousin co-owns the agency that produced it and he was the male lead. That "I was just an actor" defense is just laughable.

And let's talk about the Kim Saeron situation because this is where your "wait for evidence" line becomes outright victim-blaming. The girl was FIFTEEN when he allegedly started grooming her, and he conveniently "dated" her as soon as she turned legal age. THIS IS TEXTBOOK GROOMING BEHAVIOUR where he established contact early, kept things "friendly," and then escalated when she was of legal age . Even if you accept his version that they started dating when she was 19, the power dynamics were so insanely skewed that it's actually disgusting. He was 27 and she was barely an adult, he was a huge star and she was a young actress who had just signed with his agency, and he was in a position of authority over her career . And here's where it gets even worse!!! When she had that drunk driving accident and was struggling, he abandoned her with the excuse that her contract ran out, his agency pressured her to repay debts she couldn't afford, and then the stress and humiliation drove her to kill herself ON HIS BIRTHDAY, which is not something an innocent person just gets to wash their hands of. The family has been fighting for answers and releasing KakaoTalk messages showing they were in contact when she was a minor, but you want to ignore all that because his agency claims they're "fabricated"?

You also completely ignored the systemic pattern I pointed out by trying to claim that because some powerful people get prosecuted in South Korea, that proves the system works. That's genuinely like pointing to a few raindrops and saying there's no drought. The Taeil case literally proves my point because the judge explicitly slashed the prosecution's 7-year sentence request in half to 3.5 years because he was a "first-time offender" even though he committed a brutal gang rape on an intoxicated woman alongside two other men, and all of them got reduced sentences . Seungri only got 18 months for his role in the Burning Sun scandal, and a lawyer even called that sentence "far too mild" and questioned whether sex offenders in Korea are receiving lenient treatment . Choi Jonghoon got 2.5 years for gang rape and sexual assault, Cho Dosoon got 12 years for brutal child rape because he was "drunk," and 44 male high school students systematically blackmailed and gang-raped a middle school girl over 11 months with zero punishment!!! These aren't just "controversial cases," this is a clear, documented pattern of the justice system protecting powerful men and celebrities while punishing victims!!!!

The fact that you can look at this documented pattern of leniency toward sexual offenders in South Korea and say "but these examples don't prove Kim Soohyun committed a crime" is willful blindness at best and active defense of predatory behavior at worst.

You don't need a court conviction to recognise that someone has a pattern of predatory behavior toward younger, more vulnerable women, and the fact that you're demanding a conviction before acknowledging that he's problematic is exactly why victims don't come forward and why predators keep getting away with this shit. Because people like you keep moving the goalposts and dismissing every BRIGHT RED FLAG as "unsubstantiated allegations." South Korea's justice system routinely buries sexual assault cases, protects celebrities, and reduces sentences for offenders. We've seen this over and over again, and pretending that Kim Soohyun is somehow above this pattern because you don't want to admit that your favourite actor might be a predator is honestly just pathetic. Shove your AI ass replies up your own I am tired of you people.

it's a drama page. it's called "my drama list", not "my fan list". you can fan out as much as you want, but you can't invalidate others' opinions just because they don't like your fave, or they criticise your fave.

That's quite a claim. South Korea certainly has corruption problems, but it's also one of the few countries where…
it sounds entirely realistic.
those presidents, ministers, prosecutors and chaebol executives were charged with VERY different crimes.
south korea is notorious for not treating sexual crimes with the seriousness that it needs, and so many sexual offenders get away with it.

Seungri from the Burning Sun only got 18 months for what he did, and he had so much evidence stacked against him. his charges didn't even include rape and sexual assault. they called the victims PROSTITUTES, and fined him.

choi jonghoon went to prison for 2.5 years for GANG RAPE and SEXUAL ASSAULT.

the police routinely protect the wealthy, high-society offenders, and celebrities by destroying evidence and burying sexual assault.

44 male high school students systematically blackmailed, beat, and gang-raped a middle school girl over 11 months, and NONE OF THEM GOT PUNISHED even though a lot of them were adult aged.

Cho Dosoon only got 12 years for BRUTAL CHILD RAPE because he was "drunk".

with Taeil, the judge slashed the prosecution's requested sentence in half explicitly because the perpetrators were "first-time offenders".

sports coaches were still allowed to keep training young children even when those same coaches had DOZENS of complaints and accusations of sexual assault and rape. Those close-knit, male-dominated sports establishments just kept burying complaints to protect the reputations of high-performing, famous athletic figures.

SK courts regularly reduce rape sentences significantly if the perpetrator has no prior criminal record, even in severe group assaults. Kim Soohyun being "found innocent" literally means nothing.

lmao kim soohyun put more effort into finding loopholes with his legal team than you did with this copy paste comment. he's not LEGALLY innocent. he was only proven not guilty based on the evidence that Kim Seui manipulated and he only won that defamation case. Kim Soohyun is still a misogynistic groomer who took advantage of a young girl who was constantly exploited and robbed by the industry. Men like this don't change their ways and you can tell by his interactions with younger girls like Kim Yoojung. You're so disgusting and I hope you don't have access to children who could be poisoned by you
