Wu Jin Yan plays an ok XFF. XFF is supposed to be an parallel beauty and talented scholar of her time. WJY just don't come off as XFF. Yang Chou Yue actually would play a good reborn XFF/Jiang Li b/c of her soft features. Jiang Li's featured is soft and described as a cute/innocence . Due to the censorship, the drama excluded the detail where XFF died and went into the body of Jiang Li. Jiang Li commited suicide when she heard her fiance broke off their engagement and is set to marry the her 3rd sister (daughter of the stepmother and her father). JL lost hope due to a broken heart and despair. XFF died in vain and full of resentment to revenge. Due to one's will to die and the other to live...the swap happened. The reborn Jiang Li is under the radar and she slowly plot her way to unveal everyone and bring them down.
The author's writing style do not put the couple together so early on in the story. The author builds up to the climax and have the characters develop a history first.
Jiang Li/Xue FF (in the novel, XFF reborns from death and took over Jiang Li's body) and Xu Heng is married and have a daughter. She successfully clear XFF's family and her own name and brought the people who wrong her and Jiang Li their demise. Jiang Yu Ruo lost an eye (due to being prisoned and tortured by the princess) and is crazy. The stepmother Ji Shu Ran dies by family execution by the Elder Jiang Lady. Ji Shu Ran's evil doing: kill Jiang Yu (the eldest daughter, died at 4 years old) and frame Jiang Li for her miscarriage and fall. Oh yeah and adultery. The miscarriage baby is not the Jiang husband.
Is there a difference between the novel and the screen adaptation re: the husband's motivation for killing the…
yes there is a difference. in the novel, it's the princess who scheme and did everything (framing the FL for having an affair, strangled/killed her, frame/imprison the dad to be executed in the fall and killed the brother under the disguise of bandit robbery) . the husband knows about it but ignored it. he wanted fame and power through the princess. he's the type of guy who just wants to take short cuts vs working his way up the rank. he does not love the princess and is not like the drama where the princess emotionally abuses him.
I dont mind spoilers. Can someone tell what was the ending for the husband in the novel ?I really hope its a horrendous…
he gets exposed for being an adulterer with the princess, framing his wife for being disloyal and killing her all for trying to seek fame and glory. he gets beheaded in public along with the princess. the princess gets the same sentence plus an extra one for having a secret tortured/jail chamber at her residence (which is illegal/against the law). the princess have her title stripped and turn into a commoner before her execution.
i am reading the novel right now and OMG...it's pretty descriptive of their bedroom activities. it's realistic in a way but i was not expecting the details from the author! it's like soft porn (think 50 shades of grey)...all that will definitely be ax from the drama. ^___^
you're right like physics assault it doesn't happen in the novel it was like someone drung her than next morning…
i'm actually surprised that pass censor...the dept usually don't allow the filming of 'violence, rape etc' like from the trailer. i get that they will have to cut out some parts to fit the drama limited episodes...but i hope they follow the main plot of the novel. the comeback revenge and the unravel of the lead ML and FL were such a good read!
The trailer shows more plot from the novel than what is described here! My hopes that this drama is close to novel is restored…a lil. Fingers crossed!!!
is there is romance in novel I read about 70+ chapter still ml and fl have zero interaction.... 🥺
The main plot is revenge and that’s how the main characters start building up trust and so forth. The author’s writing style doesn’t jump into the romance that early since there is a lot of clarification and character breakdown to explain to readers.
I'm sad about it too. But I hope that Jiang Ruo Yu's identity will be like Jiang Li in the book, because the cast…
Oh yeah Duke Su is siupppsed to be beautiful/vixen like features…which he got from his mother. He has the temperament from his father but he got his pretty looks from his mom. He only and always wear red the novel..it’s like a tribute to his mom (which is yu hongYe, translation red leaf).
I'm sad about it too. But I hope that Jiang Ruo Yu's identity will be like Jiang Li in the book, because the cast…
Yeah the English translation is confusing. I just listen to the audio in mandarin. Jiang Yue’er is the first daughter but from a concubine. Jiang Li is the second daughter in the Jiang family (first legit son) and first daughter from the legal wife (giving her a higher prestige). jiang Yue’er is only a memory and simply a waste of screen time if she is written in the drama. Jiang Yu you is the 3rd daughter but the first daughter of the second legal wife (married after the first wife died). So if Jiang Yue’er grew into adulthood, her mother’s background made her a concubine daughter and she will be treated and seen differently in the family and society status.
I'm sad about it too. But I hope that Jiang Ruo Yu's identity will be like Jiang Li in the book, because the cast…
Jiang Yue’er was only 4 y/o and died in the novel. I really really hope that the drama will and follow the important details (minus the reborn) and cut out non important side stories like Jiang Li’s 2nd uncle and family. Their presence don’t make a dent and surely won’t effect the story. Fingers crossed!!!
Jiang Yu Ruo lost an eye (due to being prisoned and tortured by the princess) and is crazy.
