one thing i love about tan jianci is how expressive and dynamic his acting is. i've had my fair share of favorite actors but none of them have impressed me the same way this man did. he doesn't just rely on his eyes or just his body language; he acts with his entire being. you probably forget that it's just acting because it feels so real.
it's so fun watching him because he brings even the most minute movements to life, like a suspecting eyebrow raise, joyful glint in the eyes, or hands filled with yearning or nervousness. whenever i rewatch his scenes, i always find a new subtle movement that i never noticed before. sometimes i can't focus on the show properly because i'm too in awe of his performance (sorry go east LOL). even when the camera doesn't focus on him, he's still in character and giving out expressive reactions. truly one of a kind actor.
i don't think anyone shared this yet. here's pu tao (actress who played fang jin) covering tan jianci's filter ost "bid goodbye properly" 好好告别 back in mid march. her voice is so lovely <3
oh shit if this airs at the same time as FP S2 i'm throwing hands
i doubt it'd happen. no company would want to release their product at the same time as their competitors. i hope they'll air the golden hairpin at least a couple months before or after s2 of flourished peony
So cool! So they had a Filter panel? I wonder who else was there? Like that lady next to him? I know Tong Hua…
kinda unrelated, but i find it interesting that two dramas i watched around the same time (the tale of rose and filter) both expressed this same message.
pertaining to filter, tan jianci said "Perfection is not the only way to engage with the world — we can coexist with flaws"
in the tale of rose, the FL told her daughter that "people must allow themselves to have flaws. if you nitpick everything, that'll be too hard on yourself"
it's great to see these "flaws" being acknowledged and accepted because in real life, no one is perfect
Are you insinuating that YZ's fandom is bombing TJC's drama? Why would they do that? What's the point? They are…
as a yang zi fan since 2020, long before i found tan jianci, i'm also upset to see this. i loved their interactions in lost you forever and its promos, hoped for a second (and better!) collaboration, and was happy to hear that YZ and TJC had been on good terms even before the drama's release. but ofc this happens when celebrities gain popularity... we can't always have good things. my two favs might never interact in public again 😞 sigh
but just remember, it's the fandoms fighting, not YZ and TJC themselves. i at least believe and hope they still have good rapport with each other in real life.
When that new drama melon was announced, and some fans didn’t want him to play the lead, hoping instead for…
every project would be glad to have tan jianci. he can sing, dance, act, even some directing too. spent most of his career as an idol and yet he's better at acting than some others out there who've been acting their whole life

now i wonder if they hired the same makeup artist for cheng cheng's older appearance too
